Tbh, I’m glad my ancestors were sold during the African slave trade. We even have a diary that showed my 5th great grandmother was happy as well, because of the horrors she left in Gambia. She met my 5th great grandfather after she was freed by the man who bought her. His wife taught her how to read and write in English, and she even stayed after being freed to work for them. A lot of people think every slave owner was bad then (less than 10% of the population owned slaves in the south btw), but my own ancestor contradicts that and said she was glad. GLAD. It turned my whole worldview upside down when my grandmother told me about her. I also wouldn’t want to be in most parts of Africa right now, and tbh my family probably would have died off. I’m glad to be in America and the tone of my skin means nothing to me. The problem is that too many people are proud of their skin color, and not their culture or ethnicity.

As a Canadian, i really appreciate Adam Calhoun's verse, i know too many whites who struggle and get completely looked over, in favor of the new diversity quota...

In my personal opinion, I believe that Tom Macdonal, Adam Calhoun and the whole HOG gang are some of the most important voices in America. I totally love Your America, what a beautiful song

This is why I appreciate their songs lately, they aren’t saying they have the answers, they say what they aren’t willing to do to follow along blindly to the nonsensical ideologies that are mostly coming from the left. BUT the point is to get people TALKING to come up with the best solution possible! Blindly following one party and all of their ideologies is a big part of the problem that causes these types of issues. So if you can put out a song that gets people talking, that’s step 1 to UNDERSTANDING and understanding leads to respecting those opinions even if they aren’t aligned with yours. Then that leads to more discussions to try to come to a well thought out solution that then can be implemented to make things better. That’s what real music does, it’s a reaction to what’s going on, and then the conversations after are how to get somewhat of a better solution. Example is exactly this, you’re talking about it and if others that have the ability to make changes talk about it, we move closer to a better outcome. We are tired of the senseless murders of people that come after media inflames and sensationalizes 1 particular story and acts like it’s everywhere. People get emotional and irrational and they PREY ON THAT. That causes chaos and confusion and then we get what we have now. The media should be held accountable at some point too.

Thank you for doing this subject. I see more and more people waking up to the anti-whiteness that prevails in our society today. It is something I've been screaming about for a few years. Now I'm old enough to remember race situations were actually getting better. From the 1960s on they were slowly getting better every decade. Yes we had setbacks like the LA riots of 1992 but then they would get better. It's not improving anymore. It's not getting slowly better. it's going downhill and downhill fast and I believe our government and our media are largely responsible for the race hatred. Do they want a race war? Who would that benefit?

I’m glad to see a “conservative” commentator acknowledge anti-whiteness is a thing. Unfortunately even in this video there is still a lot of “antiracist” language, the use of which concedes a great deal of ground to the anti-white establishment.

The use of the photo backdrop - the kind most people have common memory of from school photo day - really subtly links the teachings sprouting or hinting at an origin in public education to me imo.

I’m 33 and I’m of mixed race. My father is Mexican, and my mother is white. Growing up I was told I was supposed to identify as one or the other. I find it utterly ridiculous that people are so consumed with race, and that you have to identify as something. Why can’t we just be proud of what makes us, us and in our heritage, and just love one another.

The way you make the background music stay when you pause is amazing. Really makes a big difference and is alot better than other reactions ive seen that can't/don't do that. Im sure exactly how to explain it but i really notice the cuts in videos where they didn't do that

I really appreciate him siting how he was raised to view others. I can deeply relate. As a small child learning about our country’s past, I felt a deep since of relief and pride over the fact that we overcame the issue of race. So imagine my shock and confusion when I was told I’m actually racist because I’m white.

He did say some of the issues. "You were segregated, that was not fair, you were enslaved, they did not care, but you were never on a plantation and my generation was not there". Slavery was continued by rich democrats in the south, as was segregation. Democrats fought hard to protect both.

I think the song cuts right to the core of it all. He notes, that one side is carrying a lot of baggage, and dually noted with care, but also notes it is time to let it go, because obviously both groups of people now today were not enslaved or slave owners. He also notes that being poor is not exclusive to just one group and despite the fact that your poverty may look and feel a whole lot like the same old oppression you faced once upon a time, a whole lot of other people who look different than you are also in the same boat. And, the forces that perpetuate their dispositions in society are the elites, whose policies only SEEM to help poor folks, but not really. Actually their policies help keep poor people poor. In conclusion, they pull this off quite easily or at least it used to be easy, but many people are waking up to the fact that you don't have to vote one way because of your color.

People need to realize we are all in a human world, and need to treat everyone as a human.

I'm not dying in a race war, because there won't be one 😂 Honestly imagine the right and the left clashing in armed conflict. The left would be too busy putting pronouns on the dog tags and creating safe spaces for when the battlefield makes them feel "icky" 😂😂😂

Florida's segregation persisted in public school until I entered 7th grade. In 3rd grade, I was hospitalized for several nights. The black woman who came to change the sheets knew that I was terrified of her and why. She took her time approaching me with soothing words. When she reached my bedside, she laughed out loud at my question and offered her forearm to me when I asked, "If I touch you, will it rub off?" 😂

Great piece, Michael. One of my personal observations is that population density is a direct factor. The bigger the town / city / metropolis, the greater the crime, the greater the pushback against law and police, the more frequent the accusations of racism. Rural communities do not see nearly as much of these things as the huge cities do. You should see our sports teams in our high school in this area in the south where I live. Black and white, love each other, work together, are friends. Worked in a high school here forever. When there is (rarely) a fight, it is between two of the same sex and same race. And usually girls fighting over a boy or boys fighting over a girl. Typical teenagers. People don’t shoot each other in the streets or break in and steal from stores. It’s a whole different world.

I was born in 1957. I was raised in the 60's in Brooklyn, NY. I was taught that all people were to be treated as I would like to be treated. I went to school when the color barriers were being broken down. I saw the ugly side of people, and I did not want to be like them. And over time things were good and getting better. Then Barrak Obama took office. Personally, I vote for my leaders based on their record, not their party. What they say, what they do. Not because he'll be the first man of color. What did his color have to do with it? Why did it matter so much? As, you can tell, I did not vote for him. Once he took office, I watched race matter again. That man did more to hurt and fractur the racial harmony of this country like no other. So, I have questions. Why do we say things like, she's the first black woman to ... or he's the first Hispanic to ... ? Why does color or ethnicity matter so much? Why can't we form opinions based on a person's character? Why do we allow ourselves to be divided? Aren't we all Americans first? I know I am.

Trivializing race as “just different skin color” is a huge part of the reason we got to where we are today. We can certainly love every people and wish them well without pretending that we can all just blend in and get along. We need to acknowledge that we are a unique people with unique interests and projections and we deserve to have them honored in our own civilizations.

My ancestors that came to the USA were from Europe. Germany, Sweden, Czech Republic, Ireland, and England. I am grateful for all that they overcame to come to the USA and persevere to make a life for themselves. My great grandpa came from Sweden to the USA to be a servant for a family. He worked hard and was able to build a small home with his own two hands. My great great grandfather came from the Czech Republic where my ancestors were slaves for hundreds of years. Yes, there were white slaves all over the world also. He brought his wife and six children to the USA after much sacrifice and hardships. I am very proud of my heritage!

My family escaped starvation in Ukraine with clothes and potatoes and came to Canada in 1921 and I’m first born American. My family did it legally! We have struggled just to stay alive and I have been homeless twice while working full time! Who is 100% anything now? We are all a bit of something and love should be our goal. Until I found Tom’s music I hadn’t listen to any rap since I was a teenager in the late 80s to early 90s. I found Tom’s music about a year and ago and I love his stuff! Yeah, I’m a 50+ white woman but his music resonates with me. I don’t agree with everything he puts out but I actually really like listening to him and thinking about what he’s putting down.

The word pride is often misused and that’s why I don’t use it. Don’t be proud, be appreciative. I appreciate and revere my culture. I also appreciate and revere as much as possible, other peoples’ cultures, more specifically those that stay in keeping with God’s natural law.

I was always under the impression that being prideful was not a good thing at all. In Religion and in society, because it opens you up to other evils.
