Low key agree. Alot of people don't respect the responsibility that comes with carrying a firearm. It takes discipline and judgment. The most wild thing about this to me is its all over a handicap spot of all things, something so absolutely trivial. Dude could have handled the situation in so many more intelligent ways but decided Dirty Harry was the best approach.

This guy started the altercation with the female in the car. Then when he was confronted, he immediately moved to shoot. There wasn’t a fight and he got the shit beaten out of him. He got pushed on the ground. You don’t get to shoot people for getting pushed on the ground. You don’t get to shoot people for even punching you in the face.

I am actually disabled and don't have a vehicle, but I understand how valuable those spots are to someone in need. She had no right to park or even stand (waiting without turning the car off) there. You are absolutely correct! What I mean is that Michael was neither a store employee (acting as a representative of the business) nor the owner of the establishment. As a private citizen, in this day and age, the best course of action if he wanted to complain is to take his complaint to the store staff, who would then have the authority to question why the person is parked there and would also have the authority to tell them to move, call police, have them trespassed, whatever is legally required to stop the action of the wrongdoer.

I don't think so, because the camera showed that MMG and the witness who followed MMG out of the store both saw that MD was pulling a gun. They both retreated, but MMG was shot as he retreated and died in minutes. It was impossible for the defense to overcome that video at trial, and MD was sentenced to life without.

Yours is one of the few intelligent and unbiased comments. It's literally 2 wrongs don't make a right, and in this case, 2 wrongs got one of them killed. Michael could have stood his ground but without using deadly force, and on 3 previous cases it was reported that Michael had threatened others in road rage incidents with his gun. I don't like playing identity politics, but it's certainly reasonable that the couple felt entitled to do what they did because they're black, and Michael felt entitled to do what he did because he was armed, and someone assaulted him, but the use of deadly force was unjustified. Throughout the story, there's dishonesty, particularly from the narrator. Michael never even looks at Markeis which supports the claim that Markeis never said a word. There's no evidence proving who took it from conversing in disagreement to a shouting match. Initially, Michael is obvious upset but not outwardly angry as the narrator deceptively claims. Some restraint by everyone was called for, but that's asking a lot from adults in this country today. All 3 were wrong, but Michael obviously exponentially worse than the other 2.

Yep she did. She was in the wrong and when it was pointed out that she was in the wrong (parking in the handicapped parking spot) she didn’t correct it. Humility is weakness probably in her eyes. She got out of her car to escalate the situation and imply a threat of violence from her husband. When the husband arrived he assaulted the older man and he did in fact step continue to step towards him until the older man pulled out the gun. The older man told in his police interview afraid that the younger aggressor was already within the 21 ft distance (and as we all saw, he. had already showed extreme and unwarranted physical aggression). Had the older man not had a gun with him, I wonder what the outcome would have been? He should appeal the sentence imho.
