Gems, scrolls, cans that you don't need to open as an automaton, And with the rat form, you don't have to worry about cursed or rotten food, if you're wanting to save scrolls or something, just change forms, eat and do your thing. On top of all the forms you can take to befriend monsters for leadership and meat shields or for combat, like the troll form.
@@mitchellbarton7915 I see, thanks for the answer! I didn't know that automaton can eat usual food, because when I played as this race (single time lol) and tried to do so - it just always said "couldn't produce enough heat".
That would make wizard one of the worst choices to pair with it then. You will get less xp leveling magic and casting to 100 than other classes because you start at 50/50. You can do the same with any other class except you'll get more xp from the additional level gains which helps make the early game much easier. The only downside is that you may have lower intelligence later on compared to the wizard's insane int growth, but it is irrelevant because by the time you get to hamlet, you can stock up on dozens of potions for restoring mana.
@Fellow SunBro the reason I recommended wizard was because of two mana potions. Vampire in general can get any class to 100/100 fast (like 10 minutes maybe) but having that 100 casting immediately just let's you blitz through what is arguably the hardest part of the game (the start)
My friend likes to go Vampire Monk. Monk stats aren't amazing for what he does, but he likes the 'Ring of Slow Digestion' because it solves the issue of getting bottle-necked on blood vials. He also spam casts light or levitate to get his casting level really high before we actually enter the first level. EDIT We're not experts and there's a reason he doesn't like casting 'blood letting' I think is the name of the spell
Mesmers are so good what. You just got to know how to play it and use quick commands use your followers. They get higher magic than healer too. Me and my friend have the top hardcore classic speed-run both as mesmers. The rest pretty accurate haha
Mesmer is at least fairly good if not pretty good. You're already an expert at magic, casting, and leadership when you play as Mesmer, and assuming you're playing a Succubus, it's already quite an easy ride through the game with that magic resistance. Being able to recruit succubii right off the bat is an incredible snowball. Eventually, you end up capturing enemies all over the place by not even being the one casting the charm spells. Because the creatures your allies recruit will be added to your party regardless of leadership skill, you can get like 30 recruits in just a few levels.

@mishagaming1075 which is why you're supposed to switch to something like a bow and kite around since otherwise you will be struggling with fighting him melee with no relevant melee skill I do agree that the boss is really suboptimal for the automaton mechanist I think it is possible to spawntrap baph with turrets when he starts the Boulder spam attack, on the edge of the map. He seems to be spamming projectiles in all directions except behind him. I will try it next run, definitely.
I actually beat him pretty easy with the mechanist, just make sure my turrets are leveled up build extra hopefully know healing and just keep throwing em down and if can heal and he dies pretty quick. Just can't let the fight go on
Wizard is the easiest, spell of heal, mana regen, ez boss fights unlimited power, manabolt 0 MP. Come on.... Spell of opening digging... The easiest class. A challenge is joker monk, show me the skill
