That is entirely dependent on who you ask since different people will view different things as heroic or even different people as heroes. They were not working undercover, they were signallers - nothing more. If you look at the weaponry involved and the fact that they were fearful of damaging the car then you must see that. The were using browning Hi Power 9mms with standard mags whereas extended mags were the norm for other units. Add in the fact that they carried no long weapons at all and that undercover operatives would have used the car as a battering ram to clear a path long before they were hemmed in my the taxi and hopefully you will rethink your opinion. We trained extensively for roadblocks, the car was a good battering ram, round would not be fired over heads, they would be fired at heads and longs would be putting large volumes of rounds at any perceived threats. If they had been SF then they may still have been caught but, there would be a pile of bodies to climb over to get to them. There's an old saying that goes "someday, someone might kill me with my own weapon but, they will have to beat me to death with it because it'll be empty" There were not enough troops close enough to the attack to stop what happened. Suggesting otherwise is just wrong
