I was working in a cell phone retail store. One night, a dude comes in. ( He literally just got out of prison. He'd went in prison when cell phones weren't common.) But, they are required to contact via phone their probation officer within 24 hours. So, phone is one- of- the first things they gots to get. It was weird for few couple minutes. At first, you think (maybe) they are punking you. Going from being COMPLETELY INSTITUTIONALIZED...to not at all... isn't a recipe for success. But, the prison industrial complex don't give a sh-t.
Michael could be a sage and I could be a student and happily listen to his discourses on prison and life and truly feel that I've learned something. 45 years stuck in a cell and he is so wise and so damned intelligent. That's truly the sad part and then they fostered conditions where the man had to fight for his life and was shot over 20 times nevermind all the other havoc that's been wreaked upon his body. How the US could treat this man and many others so badly is so very sad.
Another great interview, I love this guy. He wasn't skipping around or sounded robotic at all for the whole time he was talking. It may have been on your end. But he sounded fine.
