We have big problems with the media here in Sweden too. The Swedish state television is among the worst. I left Svensk TV 30 years ago and the Swedish media has a hard time catching me after the Iraq war. I have learned that all the wars that NATO has started are all based on lies that the corporate media has no competence for. Who doesn't remember the Vietnam War that I covered in the newspapers as a teenager and that I learned a few years later that it was all a lie. So it has been with all the wars since then. Most often, the wars are caused by economic interest in raw materials. The Ukraine conflict takes the prize as the most lying in the Western media.
Politicians definitely benefit from war. They know insider information. They know when the wars stop and when it starts. With that information, they know when to buy and to sell weaponry stocks. I know insider trading is illegal, but the fine for violation is so tiny compare to the benefit they get from the stocks. Moreover, no one truly enforce the law anyway because they all violated the law so they protect each other.

who? Profits? one Congress They own shares. Two the banks, from printing money that we tax payers have to borrow to pay for congress wars. Three once again Congress, getting donations to go to war to raise their share price. stay well
Well that was the true start of WW2. Capitalists was blamed for profiting from WW1 and juice were blamed, regardless of what we think it is history to talk about.
