This is my Michelin Crossclimate Plus All Season Tire LONG TERM REVIEW after 55.000 kilometers whilst giving them an emergency brake test and a mud test. The tire size is 205/55 R16 with still around 4mm of profile depth left. I consider this end of life for these tires, since 4mm is the minimum required for winter capabilities.
This video gives some idea of what the tires can still do currently (slightly damp/muddy and around 7 degrees Celsius), but obviously these tires have seen pretty much every sort of weather, temperature, roadtype and underground over their lifespan.
The Good:
- Great traction in all circumstances
- Strong braking performance especially on dry but also on wet/damp roads
- Good on fuel use (similar to my previous premium summertires)
- Awesome treadwear / lifespan (55k+ kilometres)
- Very linear steering feeling, also when cornering hard
- Still good performances in all circumstances when worn down to 4mm, whilst coming from 7,1mm when new
The Bad:
- Average rolling noise, especially on bad roads quite audible
- Quite a bit of understeer when cornering on wet surfaces
- Traction and braking on snow great, but cornering on snow a little vague
- The V-tread on the tire picks up small stones quite often
- A slight audible "hiss" coming from the tires when accelerating (no, it's not the turbo ;))
- Comfort levels are fine, but not the best
