Hahaha ...To their defense , distance is not the same from one province /state to another in the Netherlands and the USA. I understand why she would think it’s in the “outskirts” of Amsterdam : a 2 hours train commute takes you to the outskirts of LA , while in the Netherlands it gets you to Nijmegen :)

A lot of people in the Netherlands are called Gijs. It's not a unique name nor a complicated name at all, cos it has one syllable. 😂

Lol, I dated this Dutch guy for a few months and I still couldn't pronounce his last name and just barely his first name 😆😆😆😆. So I usually just call him moppie.... Which I was told it's endearment, like sweetheart or darling in Dutch.

You can drive across the entire length of the Netherlands in 4 hours. I imagine for Americans the whole country seems like Amsterdams outskirts. (Eindhoven is 3 provinces/“states” over from Amsterdam)

So if Conan has been to Amsterdam, why is he asking questions as if Dutch people have never seen a black person before? The Netherlands is a very ethnically diverse country.

Gijs is a very old Dutch name, but very common here. Eindhoven is just a boring place, but we do have the best football team of the country, PSV.

I feel like he wasn’t loving on her jokes. She had some good ones. I don’t understand the post office thing either though. At the end I think Conan was talking about his stalker who went to jail. Lol. I can’t imagine having stalkers by the dozens. Conan is brave.

As a massive soccer fan that is pretty good with names, gotta say Gijs is not a Dutch name I've ever heard. But I'm willing to bet his last name has 'Van' in it and two 'O' s and a 'J' somewhere.

Van means From, my last name is van der Wal which literally translates to from the shore. If I was a guessing man my ancestors probably were sailors or dockworkers.
