Mrs Duggar enjoyed a real childhood, playing with neighbohood friends, attending public school, joining in fun activities like track and cheerleading. Yet she subjects her children to a living as indentured servants, caring for their younger siblings & never experiencing any of the activities she enjoyed as a child! What an evil selfish woman!
She's reminiscing about all the fun things she got to do as a kid and how wonderful it all was and her kids aren't allowed that kind of childhood. To me that is selfish and sad.

This interview actually explains a lot about Michelle and the way she keeps foisting off household chores and child rearing onto her oldest daughters. @daisyvenus Actually, her kids are doing a lot more fun things than she did. And older kids caring for younger kids is the norm, even in small families.
There are 2 ways older kids can care for younger kids - helping out and being victims of parentification, and in this case it's the latter! It's a form of abuse! Her kids that are married are doing a lot more fun things than she did after they started having their own kids, because MOST of them are slowly breaking away from Bill Gothard's IBLP cult!

Unlike Jim Bob's family, Michelle's family lives far from Arkansas. They don't visit as often. They do go to reunions every other year, one was featured on their show.
I wonder.....if we were judged by the same standards in which we judge others......maybe we would not be so quick to judge. I think this is a lovely family. They work hard to do the right thing and raise responsible well adjusted loving young adults. I think people are just so use to the smut that fills most T.V. they want to pick these people apart. Mrs duggars voice is super annoying. And as a Christian and a human being she makes me sick. Of course her kids are "happy" because they're brainwashed into it. We don't see them off camera. She's harboring them from the real world. A much as every parent would like to do that, it's not right, there's a real world outside your home. We our on this earth for a brief time, why do we live only focused on the end? In their house they homeschool all their kids and choose their boyfriend/girlfriend for them. Wtf?and In their house display of emotion (aside from the parents) like kissing and hugging are bad???? I know I'll be bashed by fellow Christians for what I say, but it gets to a point when it's like "you have a life, live it" I've been through too many hardships to worry about the little things

I have to agree with some of the comments about her childhood she got to experience all the things that other children got to experience but she doesn’t allow her own children to have the same things. I think the only reason she and Jim Bob homeschooled these kids was to help around the house and that’s all they ever did. She talks about her how her siblings thought she was spoiled because she was the baby of the family. Now she spoiled as the adult because her kids do all the work. Especially with the BUDDY system when they do go out in public she has an older child assigned to an younger child. Every once in a while I watch COUNTING ON it just seems to me that Ginger is happier now that she moved away from her family and living in Texas and doing her own thing wearing pants, wearing her hair the way she wants, that’s what all the kids need is to get away from their parents and live their lives the way they want to.
