Michele Morgan builds her beautiful house on the hill in 1941 on Cielo Drive. Michele Morgan, famous French actress came to Hollywood in 1940 and builds this now iconic house that was full of history from movie stars and magazines stories on the stars that lived there. This house had many famous movie stars that lived there and many famous stars that visited there over the years before it was torn down in 1993. I have been collecting on Cielo Drive since 1972 and have found many wonderful photos and stories on the house. I hope you enjoy the video. George E. Smith

I read Michele Morgan's autobiography, it's odd that she was scared living at that house and was happy to sell it. She heard things late at night, footsteps outside, thought it too isolated (it certainly was when it was built) and didn't like being there alone. Candice Bergen, though, adored it, as did Sharon.

There was a lot of people that lived in that house that found it rather uneasy, also a lot of rather odd parallel events that happened to the people that lived there. I know the famous parapsychologist Barry Taff has mentioned often that Benedict Canyon is like a magnet for the paranormal, something to do with the land itself, he deemed it a negative place, he also describes that some people that visited various parts of Benedict Canyon became sick again from past illnesses even though they were in remission. There has been a lot of research in the field of locations having effect on the brain, some say it’s though some kind of infrasound not with a frequency below the lower limit of human audibility, that can create a feeling of or awareness of the paranormal, and also locations with Ley lines or certain rock deep in the earth

@@jn8ive60 yes I would have lived there. Wouldn’t have had a problem with it. The act itself was horrendous but that has nothing whatsoever to do with the property. It could have made someone a beautiful home but what was built in its place is disgusting.
@jn8ive60
@jn8ive60 3 года назад
@@KS-me3xq Okay, but most people wouldn't live there. If a house has a macabre history, most people are reminded of that with every minute they spend in the house. Even houses which were the scenes of murders far less notorious than the Manson murders are difficult to sell and the realtors are usually forced to drop the price, so imagine to what a far greater degree this would be true of 10050 Cielo Drive. Rudi Altobelli, who had already owned the house when the murders occurred, finally sold it to one investment realtor, who sold it to another investment realtor, and then it was rented to Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, who wanted to and did use it as a recording studio. Trent Reznor was one of the few people out there who would actually be drawn to the house's macabre history, but even he couldn't take it in the end. He moved out in December 1993, after less than two years, stating, "There was too much history in that house for me to handle." I happen to agree with you that the French Farmhouse Murder House was more attractive and more tasteful than the mansion which replaced it, but the fact is that it was going to be a white elephant for the rest of its existence, an empty, useless reminder of Charles Manson and senseless murder.

I just finished watching Tarantino's film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". Some of it is nicely done(the characters and screenplay) but its more kitschy then I was hoping for, so it's sort of like a Satire film but some of the movie is decent. I give it a 7.5 out of 10. I liked it a bit better then I thought I would as Tarantino is not in my Top 10 of filmmakers.

A newer and bigger house and changing the house number does NOT change the fact thst five innocent people were killed for no reason . Stupid to try to change the landscape . I think the big mansion in place of the other house is ugly and doesn't belong there . I wouldn't be able to live in that house either because I'd still feel the essence it's not something I can control It just hapoens. The situation with this house and land is similar to a situation that happened in Boston about 6 years ago. The site of the Coconut Grove nightclub fire, where 492 people died in 1942, had been a parking lot and garage ever since the club was demolished after the fire. However, in 2013 a developer bought the land so as to build luxury condos on the former site of the nightclub. He went so far as to relocate a memorial plaque to a new spot, which misrepresents the location of the original building and as such the location where much of the loss of life occurred. He also never told the buyers who eventually bought the condos that their property was sitting directly on the site of the fire. Apparently this was done on purpose to increase the property values. It raises some interesting ethical questions about re-purposing land where tragic events have occurred. There have been similar controversies in parts of the United Stares where Civil War and Revolutionary War battlefields have been paved over and developed into shopping malls.

Amazing how she built it for $32,000.00...you can't even get a mobile home for that price today. In 1969 it was valued at $200,000.00 which now depending on where you live will only get you a home in a middle-class neighborhood. Just for additional perspective around 1916, Douglas Fairbanks paid $35,000.00 for what later became the famous Pickfair mansion in Beverly Hills. Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton etc... bought their Beverly Hills mansions for around the same price as well. All worth millions later on.

Glad you included Steve Parent. With him being an average kid of middle-class parents, he is often forgotten when people discuss the Tate - LaBianca murders even though he was the first one to be murdered.

Hey George, I noticed there's color post cards of the house on eBay. I can't imagine a post card manufacturer capitalizing on this kind of a tragedy, so I suspect they are from an earlier time. Any idea when that photo was taken and what the story is behind it?

It looks such an 'Un threatening' house... Not 'grand', quite unremarkable, of the type seen in the Alps of Europe. It wasn't the House's fault...But I understand why the house was taken down. Who would want to live in a place with such a sad history? Rest in Peace all who were killed that night.

charj67 no one who lived there after the crimes reported anything paranormal. I suppose when the owner, who I think was the same guy who owned it when the crimes happened, and moved in himself afterwards and lived there for a long time, put it up for sale, and the new buyers chose to knock it down and rebuild. Sad, because it’s such a pretty, homey, cozy looking house....but I guess most people wouldn’t want to live where something so terrible happened.

Well, what you say would have been a great idea, when I found out about the murder and discovered Sharon (which was not long ago) I was very sorry for the tragedy, something that never should have happened, and I think like you, I would have kept that house as a souvenir of Sharon museum type so I would remember his legacy, I think that although we never forget Sharon when they knocked down the house also took down part of Sharon and the other people who lived there which I am very sorry, in any case the only culprits are murderers, that rubbish, which I hope will Stay in jail all your filthy life

The house is just a sow's ear. She built the house around HER. Even threw in a bad painting. A house overlooking a smoggy basin isn't any better than one overlooking the ocean. Both cold and eternal. Better to live on a street where there are people. I'll bet the marriage didn't last.

It’s too bad Michelle married and moved to Europe, who knows what would of been if she stayed there, she would of been too old during the 60’s era to party like the people who rented that house,. Sharon Tate would of never been there and nobody from C. Manson family would of never had know about that house either. Sharon would have had her son and two daughters and a future some where else. If you have 1 child you usually try for 2. And if you have 2 then you have to have 3, the third one will keep the other 2 from fighting, and give mom a break. LOL. Besides Sharon needed a little girl that looked just like her. All the best sunshine. S.T.
