I'm the favorite and I'm sorry to sound arrogant but here's my advice, If you want to be the favorite, it's not about what you accomplish, it's about having total respect and reverence for your parents. At least in my case. I think it's really that simple, I don't give my mom any backtalk, I treat her like a queen and I fully understand no one in this world wants me to win more than she does and no one in this world has my best interest at heart more than she does.
@@denisemilfort4581 that's nice. I come from a very patriarchal culture. My father was ALL about the boys, particularly the first born. My mother was a bit more fair in her approach but she too limited some aspects of my experiences because I was a "girl child". Every situation and family dynamic is different. I had a lot of respect for my parents, it had nothing to do with that. At least not in my case.
I always remember her mantra “when they go low, we go high” when people are in my face and I just want to tell them about themselves. ”Going high” makes me feel more empowered and creates less friction 😁

At my age books had to keep me interest to finish it and believes I got over 20 books that I haven't finish but her book i was stuck to it till it finish... I felt like we are having tea in her living room while she share her life story with me... English as second language I love that is easy read for a woman who is so smart... I did not agree with all of Barack's political decisions, but I will say that the Obamas inspired peace, unity, and acceptance. Michelle did a lot to encourage young people, and women especially, to persevere and strive for better. They weren't negative and didn't spew hate, poison, fear, and division......for this I thank them.

Oh my goodness I know this is an old video but this is the first time I have seen this. Obviously I’m not a political type of person, I hate conflict in any form. But I love education, history, and just trying to be a good person. I believe Mrs Michelle is an honest, compassionate, and genuine person who can and will help all women. I just love this lady, it has been my privilege to live and experience her job as our first Lady and her legacy to our children, she is the picture of hope for many young girls of minority groups.
When "Becoming" first came out, I was living with my then boyfriend and his three children. (He is mixed, the children identify as black and I am white.) My mom was very enthusiastic to spoil the kids, so they took over! When it was my turn to open my present, it was Michelle's book. It was like lightning struck and the kids gathered around me and said how beautiful she is. Unfortunately, we had to move a week later, and the book got lost in the move, but I will never forget them leaving their Christmas toys to hear about this beautiful person.
Michelle has given young women a path, a track to follow. Work hard, go to school, demand more of yourself. You don't have to be First Lady, just reach for your potential.
