Thursday, May 2, 2013 - Michelle Rodriguez talks about her recent projects while walking through Beverly Hills, CA. When asked when she is going to do Latin movies she replies 'When Latins start thinking about women in a different way.'
I didn't hear her bashing Latin culture. I heard her imply that Latino's are macho & don't respect women enough. I like Latino's. but she has a valid point.
roger8654 USA has bigger problems than that! And Latino's are more macho, You're right, Arabic & Asian women have it the worst. But in America at least women have rights :) You can't rely on stats, crimes against women are severely under reported, skewing the stats badly. Floyd Mayweather Jr getting off (facing 34 yrs) for beating at least 5 women, 1 child, threatening his own children & walking around a free man, the richest athlete in the world when he shouldn't even be in the general population....that's something to bitch about! The Judicial system....or lack thereof.
This just makes me love Michelle even more. Just chatting with the Paparazzi like it's no big deal. And she didn't bash her culture. She just wants a strong feminine role in film (as she well deserves).
Hello gorgeous Thanks for the utmost love and moral support, from the bottom of my heart I appreciate you for being a wonderful Where are you commenting from?🙏🤗
I knew she was a star the moment I watched Girlfight years ago. She had it, she had everything. That sexy toughness mixed with vulnerability. She's amazing. I don't think there's anyone else with her presence in the entertainment industry.
wow respect for this girl i couldn't handle people just running around me taking pictures and videos. i feel really sorry for celebrities because of that. but michelle handles it pretty well
Y'all need to recognize, Michelle is a beautiful spirit that has been given to mankind as an affirmation of Divinity, treat her like the gift that she is.

Yo soy latino, esto no me molesta!! She told the truth, unfortunately our culture has been seen that way, ojalá que things will change sooner than later!!!
As a Latino she did not bash the culture she is speaking the truth from experience. They always cast latinas as a housekeeper or maid and my sister is married to someone who's whole family is from Mexico and they think woman should always watch the kids cook and clean while the husband works. My sister always use to tell her husband that he needs to help more with cooking and cleaning because she is not gonna put up with that stereotype. So I can see as a latina where Michelle's fustrration comes from.
But ask yourself, what does she really want? Because you are talking about macho toxicity and she is talking about "strong women".What Im asking myself is, does she want a women to act as strong as a man, when they are both built differently?
@@stoneaxe3343 ....smile...all she REALLY has to do is just ....very....very nicely ask VIN...to create something for HER....he could very mildly co star...and she would have what she wants...
I love this woman besides she is beautiful humble and sexy has always shown that she is a Latina and proud of her roots puerto rican and Dominican the truth gives me great pleasure to understand him and speak in Spanish

she didn't want to bash latinas she just meant that people don't give perspective to a latin woman, that people think of latinas in a way that isn't so accurate or right or it's just one sided, she doesn't like the attitude of people towards latinas not the fact that she's a latina
Me parece perfecto su comentario, los directores latinos solo usan a las mujeres como prendas not like strong characters as the onces she always play, she is amazing deep in love!
Tittle is wrong, she never bashed her owned latin culture, she only stated when they have better way of acting instead of same story's that's what she meant in different form!!!!
Omg they say anything to get ppl to watch and view . she never bashed her culture . she stated that Latino film writers do not write strong enough female roles . that is clearly a fact . sorry but Latino movies use women as props and the "stand there half naked & just look sexy " . its no disrespect its her opinion on the" roles ". ppl turn down roles all the time for same and different reasons , in and out of America . people have there standers .... and I love how she stood up and said no to dumb ass baywatch kinda roles. She's a strong female role model have respect and label this video right !!!!!!!!!
First off, why are you so easily offended? Yeah, she's a role model, but come on... there are other more inspirational figures out there who we should be paying more attention to. If this offends you, you should really check yourself. Hollywood is a whole other world than the one we live in. Personally, I love this chick. She challenges people. People can choose to interpret this in so many ways. I see it as her trying to encourage Latin (writers) to step it up in Hollywood. This isn't the first time she's tried to emphasize the lack of progression and growth in screenplay writing in Hollywood. Take it as a challenge.
The title for this piece was very misleading to get views. She was pointing her experience with women roles that were oriented for men views rather than for the woman. Its rough to have people following, snapping pictures running around you and trying to get a "forced" conversation with you. She was than a good sport. She pointed out several times she was taking time out from work to make time for herself which means "I'm not on the job. Let me be." My dad use to pay the restaurant to close so we could have dinner without people doing this type of thing. Some would pull up a chair while you are eating even. Whew! It seems cool, however there is a time for it and not for it. The better ones opt to make an appointment for the "professional" chat out of respect. These men were working and not just fans on the street. Most of the people in this situation appreciate their fans as my father did, however like for her, she probably would have liked a quiet walk enjoying her time. If she wanted company she would have invited a friend to walk with her.
Dude she's a fuckin class act lol! I dig her dawg she's cooler than a fan even under pressure, the dude seemed like a shit starter but she wasn't havin it... She's a G!
She was bashing latin men, not her culture. The same latin men who see women more as an object then a human. They see women as some weak damsel who needs a man to protect them, not as a viable human who is just as capable, powerful and charismatic as any man. Michelle just wants people to take her and other women serious. To respect them for who they are, not for what they look like, who you think they should be or some 19th century representation of femininity. I may be wrong here, but I think that was what she was bashing.
I just got schooled by a lot of commenters here. I actually thought Michelle was a macho male. Thank you all for setting me straight. Even though she is not.

I feel sorry for Michelle that she cant just be left alone to go for a walk. I love her but gosh if I saw her in public I think I would wait for her to talk to me instead of being all so like everyone else pestering her
He's keeps telling one of the camera guys to not go in & then he makes a comment (in a playful manner) "She going to to you out with a hit for being stupid" lol..but he uses much more vulgar words
