I am so excited to share my amazing patient, Michelle's Tummy Tuck journey with you all.
Michelle is a fit and active mother, but she felt like no matter how much she worked out and ate healthy, she had excess skin of her abdomen and mons pubis from weight fluctuations after multiple pregnancies. As you can see, even some of the thinnest patients have excess skin that they just can’t remove that a tummy tuck can help with.
(This is not a mini tummy tuck- a mini tummy tuck only removes excess skin, it does not repair abdominal wall looseness.)
Often people are unfairly judged for having plastic surgery and are told just to “stop being lazy” or to “go to the gym.”Diet and exercise, although important, cannot bring together or tighten abdominal muscles that have been pulled apart from pregnancy or weight fluctuations. Because Michelle is a very fit person, this was discouraging at times because she worked very hard in the gym but would not feel additional strength in her core, and she would have to tuck her excess skin inside high-waisted jeans.
I cannot stress enough how in many circumstances plastic surgery is necessary to repair injured tissues - that no amount of diet or exercise can repair muscles or remove excess skin. This patient is a true example of that- she is 3 months post-op in her post-op photos.
Her belly button looks like a natural “innie” belly button, her incision is super thin and low, and her abdomen is flat and tight! She is excited about her amazing result and she is already wearing tiny bikinis confidently! This surgery made such a significant difference for my patient. Michelle, I am so happy that you are comfortable and confident in your own skin, you truly deserve it!
