These are nothing. She only belted up to an E5 here. You should watch her do "Number One" from this play, the slays and sustains an F#5 with vibrato. She has serious pipes :D
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!! Saw the play and loved it. Great cast, great plot, great message, great humor, great action...great eveything!!! Well casted too; each part suited the person who layed it. Michelle looks great, sounds great, is great! Love her voice; she needs to get more recognition. Hats off to everyone in this. Oscar, academy, grammy...all of the above!!! Lol.
Then of course in 2011 she toured and orginated the lead role in this critically-acclaimed David E. Talbert production. Michelle is returning to gospel for her fourth album, due in early 2013, which I can assure you will be a great success on the gospel and christian charts as her previous gospel albums have been. Michelle doesn't need to sell millions and go on world tours to be successful. She can saaang, act, WRITE and has released music ranging from pop, r&b, dance and gospel
Like Madea said in Madea Goes to Jail, "when you girl or wife is singing, dusting just smiling all the time just know Jesus aint put that smile on her face alone. Somebody helping her put that smile on you betta watch." I luv this scene she etta get that pipe
Yas, some of the best female vocalists out today. Could you imagine if all 4 came together? Michelle and LeToya are actually good friends - check out LeToya's recent webisodes, Michelle is in the 4th one :)
@aniayaha20 She was indeed. She has since released 3 solo albums (2 chart-topping gospel albums and one pop album, Unexpected) and has a 4th on the way this year. This is just one of many plays she's starred in. She made her theatre debut as the lead in Aida on Broadway in 2002 :)
Umm it's far from over. Michelle has always done theatre in between albums. - 2002, Heart to Yours, #1 Gospel, #17 R&B (best selling gospel album of the year), MOBO Award for Best Gospel Act - 2003, Aida, lead on broadway - 2004, Do You Know #2 Gospel - 2007, The Colour Purple - 2008, Unexpected, first pop album, 1st single We Break the Dawn top 50 in UK and Hungary, #4 US Dance, Thre Greatest (2nd), #1 US Dance #39 decade-end - 2009, Chicago on the West End, London - 2010, Chicago, Broadway
I finally saw this play today on TV One. I really liked it. I don't why this scene reminds me of Diana in Mahogany. That girl can sang, too bad Beyonce always got all the attention.
@allanmhanson No sorry, I don't want to take away from sales by putting the entire DVD up - plus it will take me forever to cut the clips, save and upload :\ It's a great purchase, definately one for christmas :D
Michelle has confirmed her and Kelly do reuinte whenever they can - they just keep it quiet. A few months though they was a little frenzy as they were pictured together.
