Every time the subject of an invasive species comes up, up comes the subject of them carrying disease, I really don't think that's as serious as it's made out to be because many people have been handling and hunting those wild feral pigs for years and they've never caught anything from them.

More opportunity for me to hunt and eat pig that I won't have to buy I don't see huge problem with them if Michigan hunters keep in control it might turn out to be another great hunting opportunity for res and non resident make DNR some more money either way as long as it dont screw up the deer herd iam for it its not like our DNR dose a lot for our deer herd now
Evidently the DNR's concerns where greatly overstated. None of my friends, who hunt all over Michigan have ever taken one. This is certainly not consistent with my reading about feral hogs which soon overspread areas they are found in.
