Kamala Harris has my vote but I don't think having a ticket with a gay man as vice president and African Asian woman choice for president will win. Pete also has twins less than five years old. I wish it was a different time but it's not. I'm being practical- I think Mike Kelly the former astronaut is the best VP alongside Kamala.

You may be correct in your assumption but we need to fight against the temptation to think and act in the past and try to forward think. This is the opportunity to do just that. Whoever the VP picks as her running mate will be an excellent choice based on the choices available.

Californian here! I have been loving her since the day I watched her dealing with Trump during the pandemic. Her life was even at risk when a group of extremists tried to kidnap her. She is beautiful and tough. Glad to read your message!

She forced stores to rope off aisles in stores like arts and crafts in the same stores as groceries during Covid because she felt they weren’t necessities (despite kids staying home). She denied citizens from boating until her husband got busted, and she denied citizens from traveling up north until it was time for her holiday. Most of all she shoved Covid patients into nursing homes killing seniors in those facilities. Still proud and happy of the “great” job she did. This Michigander say no.

Imagine a world were election campaigns were limited to only 3 months, elections were limited to public funding and the media was required to provide a limited amount of airtime in the public interest for campaign ads. Also image the president being elected by the national majority so candidates had to compete for the most votes in every state instead of just blitzing a half dozen swing states that decide elections.

So I largely agree with this, but moving from the electoral college to the popular vote wouldn't change the blitzing of a handfull of swing states, it would just change what states a blitzed. You can't be everywhere, so you have to choose where you think you can run up votes. Would be Texas, Califonia, Florida, New York, Illinois, Massachussets

Campaigns of shorter duration, public funding and "The Fairness Doctrine" were once part of the landscape, but Special Interests, lobbies and the Operators saw to it that those relics of the past went away. Too many like it just the way it is.

That is an electoral process that I, and much of the electorate, would welcome. Imagine the Supreme Court decision on Citizens United (that corporations are people) being overturned, that elections weren't overly-influenced by dark money and millionaire/billionaires, and that we weren't fast becoming an oligarchy with unlimited potential for bribery. Then we might have a better chance of electing leaders who truly had the best interests of the voters in mind.

@@LordVader407what you're stating is literally a contradiction: you can't simultaneously lock down and stay home, while also having lots of bars and restaurants that you can go to with friends. I live in a province in Canada that closed bars and restaurants for a period of time when we did have to lock down and stay home. So what you're saying makes absolutely no sense so clearly it's a lot more nuanced than what you're claiming. No doubt it was probably a recommendation but not mandatory.

Number 1 Walz for me as he has strong Mid West and blue collar appeal with his down to earth style, strong on labor, excites younger and female voters with his policies. Strong speaker. Followed by Beshear and Pritzker. While Shapiro helps with Pen he hurts Michigan and Wisconsin. Kelly if you want to go very centrist, which I don't think is the right move, and mediocre speaker. Cooper lacks charisma.

She was asked to answer the question yes or no, her response was that she had communicated with the people around her that she would stay on as governor until the end of her term. When asked if she would change her mind, she said her FOCUS is on being the co-chair. I think we can make of that what we will.

She would be phenomenal however, there’s no way that people are going to put two females on the United States president and vice president ticket. Unfortunate. But we really need Whitmer to stay where she’s at and there will be a time for her in the future but it’s not for her we might’ve lost our democracy in 2020 and that is not lost on anyone.

You are absolutely right and most Americans would agree with you. However we must never say never. People said years ago a Black man would never be president. Obama proved at least 1/2 this country wrong. All I'm saying is if a 2 women ticket happens, we all have to embrace it because if we don't, evil will win. The path for this country to return to sanity relies on our ability to be mentally and spiritually flexible. Hearts and minds don't always work together and as usual we all have to work with what we have at any given moment.
