When you and I were kids, this amount of homelessness wasn’t a reality or we would have vivid memories of it. So why do we have it now? What are the root issues and how do we fix them? I believe it’s the gutting of the middle class and basically a lack of financial security leading to a downward spiral for many living close to the edge. I know for a fact the numbers are higher. Is the percentage higher 🤷🏽, but for certain the raw number of homeless is higher. The homeless tent cities along I-5 and I-84 weren’t there when I was younger.
