Michigan made it to the playoff two seasons in a row, and came up short both times prior to the key 2023 players deciding to come back and pursue a National Championship. That's a pretty big difference between the culture and momentum of Michigan and Ohio State. I'm convinced 'The Game' will come down to Wink vs. Chip. Looking at both men's NFL resume has us very confident here in Ann Arbor... Advantage Michigan.

Oregon is the key game for both OSU and Michigan. Michigan will have to beat Texas, USC and Washington, and will still be ranked below OSU. Hopefully, Michigan will be on a winning streak after playing Washington. Unless OSU slips up. If OSU loses to Oregon, It won't matter if Michigan wins or loses to Oregon, they will be rated above OSU. The media always plays favorites to OSU. I still believe OSU is just a paper tiger.

UM has Earnest Housmann and Barhnam, they are being said in work outs right now Aug 10 to be the best LB seen as a tandem at UM . Put it bluntly. They are simply loaded again. And that's not an exaggeration . They return with even more talent on that defense.
Osu has been overvalued every year under ryan day. He continually gets the benefit of the doubt; I doubt his benefit. He has high ranked talent classes but can't do anything with it.

It’s stunning how many years in the preseason Notre Dame is massively overrated. For many recent years they play a cupcake schedule that’s supposed to look tough. Whenever they play a real team outside of South Bend they lose. They are easily the most preseason overrated team over the last 15 years besides Texas. Show me, show me, show me, against real teams!
I’m sure the stats are out there somewhere but it seems like ND generally has a winning record against teams ranked lower than them and a losing record against teams ranked higher. Obviously there’s some exceptions in there but my point being it seems like They’re usually ranked pretty accurately. I’ll try to dig up some stats on that otherwise it doesn’t mean much for me to just say it.
On paper, our team looks like our best team in quite some time. That's assuming Riley Leonard plays like we're hoping. Our defense was a top 5 defense last year, and most of it returned.
@@Dmob17 they get a lot of wins each year with their cupcake schedule and for many years Stanford and USC have been garbage (until recently with Riley). Their ACC schedule is mostly garbage. Service academy games are usually auto wins for upper level Power Five. They managed to get about 9 or 10 wins many years but again any time they play a real team outside of South Bend they lose and not just teams ranked higher than them. If ND was in the Big Ten East for the last 10 years, they would have never made the playoffs. Never. Overrated. Still top 25 team but usually doesn’t belong in the top 10.
@@drewblue1164 outside of An all time great Alabama team in the NCAA championship, Georgia, Clemson (with Trevor Lawrence), and Ohio State, ND pretty much handles their business against everyone else. I agree that they’re not in that elite top 3 or 4 programs list, but they’re not ranked as such. You’d have a hard time showing me 10 better programs over the past decade than ND. It’s easy to get caught up in the hype. My guess is unless you’re one of the aforementioned teams I listed, you wouldn’t be thrilled to see ND on your schedule, especially as an away game. And that’s because they find ways to win. every. Single. Year. Don’t get me wrong. ND isn’t winning a natty this year, but I could realistically see them getting a playoff win this year. I could also see them going 9-3 and missing the playoffs completely. Hard to say.
@@Dmob17 In the last 10 seasons, not including the Covid season which wasn’t a real full season with fans in the stands for true road games, ND finished above their preseason ranking in only 2 of those years. ND is consistently overrated and the HC hasn’t proven he can do anything yet besides recruit. Let’s see them win a playoff game before people start expecting them to be great (and not a playoff win against the scrub 12th seed from the group of five).
Why is everyone so big on Oregon's coach. Two years in a row he cost them the game against Washington by not taken points. He has 5 stars and all the nil money in the world and have not won a championahip or made playoffs.
He's only been a head coach for 2 years and has been checking absolutely every checkmark besides win the biggest games. He's recruiting in way to make Oregon more physical than its ever been. Tell me how often brand new head coaches start their careers 22-5.
If a team does, it won't be Sparty. Their OL and DL are full of former walk ons and red shirt freshman. Their skill talent is average. Terrible LOS scrimmage play and little to no depth at virtually every position does not scream Bowl Team, let alone a team that could win 10 or 11 games and make the CFP.

if we're going off talent alone michigan has at least 4 first round picks on their team (johnson, graham, grant, loveland) and quite a few 2nd rounders as well (edwards, rod moore, barham, derrick moore) really the only reason people are low on michigan is because of the question marks at qb but if they get mccarthy level qb play, they are a top 4 team no debate
Why are teams still scheduling to play ND? There is no benefit to any team in a conference to play ND. ND should join a conference. Until then, every program in a conference should keep them off their schedule

That is a laughable comment. They only have 3 games on the schedule that could be losses. The reset of the games should be easy wins. Washington on the road my be the toughest of those easy wins. All they need to do is win 1 of the 3 tough games to make the playoff and 2 of those 3 are at home.
