In a short time, I really like seeing Jake, and Joshua segments. They both want their teams to win,but they are fair, unbiased, and their breakdowns of games is spot on. This is from a NYG fan.
JJ turned the page at the press conference after beating BLohio. He took off his big ten east champion hat and channeled his inner Kobe Bryant and said "job isn't finished". If that ain't turning the page I don't know what is.
Josh dont forget Corum didnt play so that helped ohio state a ton on tge run game. Corum finds holes and makes moves that so many rbs dont have those skills
Bingo, Corum with that deadly jump cut of his while they were selling out to stop the run he may have busted some early because one miss at the line and the defense is chasing. Corum had about a 30+ carry every game so he may have caused alot more problems. Not to mention edwards couldn't catch because of cast or they probably throw a screen or 2 while that defense was stacking the line. Alot was in favor of osu to stop the offense due to injury.
When all is said and done...it's just a game. I love and appreciate the respect between these two. They should make their schools proud. Hey this is what the greatest Rivalry in sports needed.
Watching the game just as a Michigan fam when you blitz so much on short downs you add and subtract from your defense when you blitz your subtracting from your defense and leaving your backside exposed..ohio state didn't adjust and just blitzed all day until that Loveland TD then when they adjusted Michigan adjusted to them and went punch you in the nose run game..
It is a very simple issue, Josh. OSU is a poorly coached team. And not simply marginally so. Josh does not understand who this Michigan team is...and is left very, very salty here.
Heres the fact... OSU tried to play Don Brown Defense. We as Michigan fans know all too well how that works against great opponents. IT DOESNT! This version of Ohio St. defense was basically a complete replica of it. Blitz Blitz Blitz and leave our corners out on an island. Think about all the huge plays Ohio St. would make each year against that Defense. It was like watching the same games, but with the teams wearing opposite jerseys. It didnt work for Michigan against OSU and it wont work for OSU against Michigan. I will also add. This mistake was made by need. They knew they were still not tough enough to stop Michigans rushing game without committing themselves to stacking the box. The talk of them being tougher was only that. TALK, and they knew it. If they truly believed it, then they don't do what they did. Truthfully with Corum out and Edwards not near 100%, I think it was a huge mistake. I think they should have made Michigan earn the yards down the field. But, they were too scared of a repeat of last season.
Ohio State might get a chance to beat Michigan this year yet again....so if I'm them, I may have a chance at retribution....if things fall into place the correct way this weekend....
Even in defeat Josh still can’t give credit and remove his bias. According to his logic outside of Ohio st big plays they didn’t do anything either. That’s not my argument because football is all about highs and lows, big plays and small plays. U run it up the middle ten times for that one setup play to beat the defense for a big play IT’S CALLED FOOTBALL
Delusional OSU fans want you to believe that if you take away all the plays that Michigan made that mattered (plus assume that Michigan would've been magically forced to punt those drives instead) that Ohio State played great defense. Michigan averaged almost 9 yards a play at 530 yards. You got dominated OSU fans deal with it nobody is buying the "if you take away these 6 TD's" story. What was shocking is on OSU's fast track turf it was Michigan that was the much faster team. OSU looked slow on both sides of the ball.
on 55 of um's 60 plays, they gained a total of 171 yards/1 td 1 fg. on the other 5 plays, um gained 349 yds and scored 5 td's. nobody's taking away the 6 td's. but how they were scored, and how many by 1 team, was out of the ordinary for tosu to allow this year, for um this year, and for the rivalry as a whole. it was THE major tipping point of the entire game, um doing tosu's mo on offense.
At 2:17 Josh says if that TD broken up by Mich went the other way, it could have been a different game. WRONG. Mich outplayed OU the entire 2nd half, which we all know by now thats Mich.'s mo. What would have changed? Other than add 4 points to the scoreboard, the game would have gone one as it happened. I have not heard one OU supporter simply speak the truth, Mich is better.
“Jake & Joshua” damn they really could’ve gone with “Jake & Josh” smh. Great analysis as always, just found these guys recently and they are always very good.
Good show guys. Waiting to see how many guys have to sit out for the championship game this week for Michigan. I really don't want to see OSU get in lol I'm not delusional and don't think we can just bet on another win so close together but I also don't know if USC deserves to get in they've thrown against air like 75% of their season like that UCLA game defense was forbidden leaving whole chunks of the field vacated repeatedly. Guess we'll see what happens Georgia vs OSU could be a good game
Michigan center should absolutely be offensive lineman of the year and 1st team. He wins Remington award and Outland Trophy. This is an embarrassing snub by the big 10.
Wasn't just 6 big plays. Thier offense was ineffective and unable to make any changes when things weren't working. Michigan's offensive line held there own in the first half when Ohio state blew thier load and did have success but our guys saved thier energy to play 4 quarters and started to get push on both sides of the ball. The trenches of michigan are better last year and this year. It's an out manned and out physicaled issue for Ohio not just 6 unlucky plays. But I truly hope thier coaching staff and players think like you do
I like what's being said and true or not yes you need to evaluate the plays that didn't work if you're Michigan. But this idea that "well only had one real drive all game" well because most of them ended within 5 plays. They only had like 1 drive that didn't end in points. So there really aren't any drives any plays to evaluate to figure out what went wrong you just weren't in offense a ton of snaps because you were scoring so quickly
I like the philosophy of bypassing the red zone. It’s like sinking a long approach shot in golf. Why worry about putting and chipping when you don’t have to?
Same, like when he said that i literally was like, "wow, that actually makes alot of sense". This was something OSU did all year very well, but then seemed to catch the same bug Michigan had been sick with all year, that being - getting all the way to the redzone then suddenly being incapable of moving the ball into the endzone, (during the second half of the game that is).
