When talking about Steelhead and Salmon fishing in Michigan or in general most people will associate it with either trolling or river fishing (like fly fishing). There also is another method to target Salmon and Trout in the late Fall and Winter here in Michigan and that it shore fishing as well as marina fishing. Most popular techniques are casting inline spinners but you can also soak live bait under a bobber to find success. In this video I visited a Lake Huron marina where I literally grew up fishing.

I love fishing Marinas off active harbors . Im on huron as well and that time of year you can catch kings, steelhead, Atlantic, walleye etc. I use lighter equipment as well and its alot of fun , in the summer out on the lake i Always have one pole that has light equipment and its a riot. Great video and good luck.

I used to have a blast with ultra light when the king came into the St Marys out of Huron. But I was in a boat and could move with them. The real challenge was when they would dig down under the boat, with real ultra light tackle you had to move off of them to work the fish at all. The challenge always put a mile on.
