TJ Combo is probably one of my favorite fighting game characters and this theme perfectly encapsulates why I love him. He's an old boxer who cheated his way to the top, lost everything, and now he's back to redeem himself by taking down an evil mega-corporation.

You know whats crazy? This track was Collab'd by Mick and Omega Sparx in just ONE week. Recently reveled in a mini Doc where Mick gordon talks more in -depth on some of the games tracks

So good. What I love about Mick's production on this soundtrack is the multiple layers of storytelling. He not only introduces a new theme to the characters of Killer Instinct. He also utilized certain elements from their older themes, specifically from the Killer Cuts soundtrack.

T.J. Combo is an american boxer who was once the world champion. then the company who gave him his powerful arm implants, ultra tech, pit him up against a prototype fighting robot and gave him one instruction: Lose. But he tore the robot to shreds in the ring. then Ultra Tech exposed him for his cheating. SO HE RIPPED OFF THE IMPLANTS OFF HIS ARMS LIKE A MADMAN! somehow the implants gave him a healing factor ao hes only left with acars and no furthe rinjury and hes now trying to redeem himself

This is absolutely why I love Mick Gordon's music. You bop and bounce with the melody, you're jiving with the bridges, and you get hit with a hard-hitting beat. You can't help but vibe with it, it's so good. It can't even be something that is described easily, you just... You just feel it. That's it. It's something you feel with every part of your self.

Yeah this song is rad and it’s cooler in the context of the lore. it’s the theme for the character TJ in Killer Instinct who is a boxer and this is kind of his comeback song. I think in the lore he was a great boxer but he was cocky arrogant and got humbled after being on top, and this song kinda symbolizes his rise back up to the top after not competing for years without looking for fame and wealth. He’s a really cool character :)

Half right. He was the #1 World Champion but it was discovered he had cybernetic enhancements installed in his arms and when it was found out he was stripped of all his accomplishments and reputation. So he had them removed and focused on being all natural

@@totallynotjosh945 He became world champion before getting the implants but then he lost the belt because he let all the fame and wealth go to his head and fell into depression. That is when the whole thing with ultratech and the implants started. Which let him regain his title.

@@giganticomega6821 I think you're mixing the old and new lore there. In the new one he was the unbeatable champ for 20 years until he got beat. He then went to Ultratech to get cybernetics and beat the guy. But as payment, UT wants TJ to lose to the new combat droid Fulgore. He won, but UT exposed him, making him lose his place in boxing. He then tore off his own implants (and gain superhuman abilities from them) and plans to get back at UT.

My favorite part of the song is that bridge towards the oldschool throwback at the end. The "Feel my power, baby" part os actually a reference to his old theme but updated for the modern game. The way Mick Gordon mixed that particular part is so euphoric that no one is EVER prepared for how hard it hits, and one of my greatest pleasures in showing people this particular song is seeing thr look of confused apprehension they have during the buildup slowly turn into an uncontrollable smile. It catches everyone off guard, and the fact that you can listen to it and still appreciate it regardless of whether or not you get the reference is a testament to just how well Mick and Omega did their jobs.

Legit, when I was training myself to do walk, run, and get back to Martial Arts/Parkour again after I got surgery to repair my torn ACL, this song probably the one I listened to the most to keep me motivated. I was told it would be around three months before I was able to start jogging again...I was full on running again in five weeks, and and now, over half a year later, I'm able to do everything I could do before my injury. The whole time, this song helped me stay motivated. It's a fantastic workout/overcoming adversity song. Awesome video, mate.
