totaly agree the thing is there is getting a sneaky edge then there is totaly taking the piss had they have used a thinner layer of foam they could have probably got away with slowing fury down or making him run out of steam and we would be none the wiser
the furys were prepared to walk away from the fight unless the ring got sorted, and fair play to them for that. most fighters would do whatever told just to get the pay cheque
Klitschko had sparred with Tyson before so he knew Tyson would come in to dance. The more foam the faster a dancing fighter would fatigue. Simple and genious game by Klitschko's but camp Fury knew that they would try all sorts of things.
i dont think because he is a gypsy but more rather because he made some statements that are not tolerated by the ''higher powers''.. Im aiming at statements about homosexuality, powerfull jews etc. Like he says all the time, they want their champ to be a yes man and dont speak out their opinions in public.. At the end those boxers becaume a brand/product and they kind of lose their free speech , those who dont obey this are being destroyed in the most dirty ways..
Reason why Fury's win over Klitschko will outlive that of AJ. Fury overcame Klitschko mind games, dirty tactics, and home advantages to beat him. Without Fury, Heavyweight boxing would be dead.
Played Klitschko at his own game. Out-mindgamed him. Took the control away from him. They seem like small issues, but it was obvious to see, Tyson and his team got in their heads
An excellent point. He was a big part of the team Fury story as of course was Peter. I’m fascinated by the story if someone made a film you’d say what a load of bollocks yet we all now know it was all true.
Crafty tactics. Klitschko trains on a super soft pillow for months whilst his opponent is training on a standard ring, then when his opponent comes to fight in the special Klitschko ring, it's like he's fighting in a sandpit, his feet sink into the canvas meaning he can't push off and bridge the gap past the long Klitschko reach - Wlad's greatest fear. The Klitschko's make out that they're the golden boys of boxing, when in fact they try every sneaky tactic that they can - referees who allow excessive holding, spongy canvas, Vitali insisting on being in the opponent's dressing room, intimidating them whilst they're having their hands wrapped.
agree on all but the hand wrap part thats actually pretty standard for seconds to witness the wrapping of an opponents hand thats how mosleys coach caught Antonio Margarito when he loaded his wraps.
I genereally agree, but how was Vitali intimidating them? Wlad wanted his brother to check the hand wrapping, and Vitali wanted Wladimir to check hand wrapping when he was competing. Also I'm not sure Fury would have lost that fight under any circumstances... He's better on the inside than Wladimir, who liked to jump back when opponent came at him... So it may have been an advantage for Fury.
Johnny Nelson is the reason this happened. Because he did a piece at Klits training camp and commented on the unusalyy thick matting he had in the ring. That was 2 months before the fight at least. Anyone else remember that?
fair play to mick and fury mate they came to win this night not just for a pay day do you think eddie hearn would of kicked up a fuss like this?? nah mate he would of took his pay cheque win lose or draw
This is all bullshit, no one but sanctioning bodies should be laying canvass. Simple as. The only time either team should be involved is to stand on it. If you disagree with the level of the canvass you can request to see proof but that's it. If it's laid to regulations then you have no argument if it isn't then you have a corruption charge OR HSE issue.
Klitchskos tried to use the spongy padding to weaken Furys legs so he couldn't box and move. They wanted to turn him into a stationary punching bag for Wlad. Complete joke.
Well, basically the cheat got his ass handed to him twice.. no boxer or trainer should be involved in any ring design they should be standardised at this level surely?
Actually these new 'Memory foam' rings are getting more popular now as they promise a more comfortable concussion and come with a free argument. And all at a knockout price ;-)
I have only boxed at a junior amateur level and I can tell you that trying to move around on a spongy canvas can really tire your legs out and slow down your movement.
Good on the Fury camp for calling them out on this they nearly got away with it. But I feel if Klitschko came with the same intent when he fought AJ he would of beaten Fury with hard work.
I wouldn’t necessarily lay this at the door of the Klitschko’s themselves, but probably the people around them. But Team Fury were right to be on their guard, coming to dethrone a local hero on home soil, there were bound to be hidden traps prepared to prevent it. I can remember Tyson, despite feeling dehydrated after the fight, refusing to drink any of the water that had been locally provided.
Classic Klitschko tactic. Softer canvas stifles Furys movement, pressures the ankles and makes him static. Had that canvas stayed the course of heavyweight boxing could have been a lot different. Klitschko always used a thicker Canvas.
3:00 ffs a wrestling ring has less padding than that, they have one layer of foam, klitchkos had 3 or 4 lol, heres a pic to compare. qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-e993da4d988ce1e06113f994728e80d1.webp
You think this was bad? I only heard of this, but the contract you'd sign with k-2 promotions to just get a shot at the title was ridiculous. If wladimir lost, he'd get his rematch (standard) but after the rematch if you won, you'd then go against vitali. So basically you could be tied up for 3 fights.
This doesn’t matter in Fine Art (painting) It doesn’t matter in a music gig It matters here Good management A team thing , with family supervision We do love Klitschko, We love team Fury We love sport Thank you, Vladimir Thank you, Tyson
Every ring should have set specifications for how thick the canvas should be.. Photos taken and filed before each event.. This shit goes on a lot when 1 fighter is trying to get an advantage over another..
