I feel this cartoony voice hits even harder than with real voices. Because of the fact that cartoons like Mickey and Goofy are supposed to be funny and cheerful, but when you flip it to become tragic it's quite unexpected and thus it hit hard.

I'm glad you have made these videos, especially as our countries war(s) are coming to a temporary end. Moral injury is a real emerging field. For years we've claimed everything as PTSD, which Mick is obvious suffering in these videos. Yet what fuels it the most, is the moral ambiguity of his decision. He had killed dozens before goof, with no clear regret. Yet with goof, his best friend, his brother in arms, sharer of an unspeakable bond; killing that was akin to killing a parent in his eyes. He does not regret doing what was necessary for his country, nor should he. But he is clearly bereaved, as are many vets who go about their days after going to war, suffering often with some.form of moral injury. Aftaid to bring it up, lest they get diagnosed as "another vet with PTSD"

I love how this initially started out as seemingly just a very well produced shitpost and has since morphed into quite probably the greatest piece of dark fiction this platform has ever hosted. The voices changing from video to video..it all makes sense now.

Shortly after coming back from Vietnam, Minnie could see the Mickey that came back was not the same Mickey she fell in love with before the war. She can tell from Mickey's eyes they've seen horror she can not even fathom, and that made her uncomfortable around him. It's not like the different attitude, and the general sense of dread he gave off also helped the situation. It was like Mickey gave off an aura of sadness, and it was affecting Minnie too. Since his return, there have been a lot of firsts. First time Mickey laid his hands on Minnie, the first time he told her to go to her room, and the first time he told her "that was an order." Minnie could see Mickey's rage when she refuses things, something she absolutely hated. Minnie could see that Mickey was very troubled, but it seemed clearer to her by the day that she can not be part of his healing process. Mickey would have to heal or wallow in his own sadness on his own. She left him the very next day, hoping he'd change some day, but we all know how these stories end. For Minnie, she's never coming back to him, and well, for Mickey. Mickey never came back. Goofy killed Mickey.
