By any standards, that is some awesome guitar player. The fact that it is so early is just mindblowing. These guys cut the path for the first trailblazers in the following years.

Shit, seriously!? I loved that song by Sylvia but had no clue until now that it was the same Sylvia from this duo! What does she have to do with Hip-Hop though? I'm confused.

@@JukeboxBalowski Sylvia Robinson was the founder and CEO of the Sugar Hill Records hip-hop label. She was credited as the driving force behind two landmark singles in the hip hop genre; "Rapper's Delight" (1979) by the Sugarhill Gang, and "The Message" (1982) by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Did you hear those kids cheering at the end ? Mickey and Sylvia at the top of their game..they were huge a year before R@R broke which Mickey helped invent..he was probably the most recorded studio R@B guitar player of all time
@PHJimY

I thought that Tommy Tedesco was the most recorded studio guitarist. Mickey was a great jazz guitarist who recorded with Charlie Parker and other bop musicians. He also wrote a super jazz guitar book that is still in publication.

But what surprised me was that it came out that early. I would’ve put it mid-60s. The commercial recording sounds ten years ahead of its time.
