Some days are like that but if you do not venture up the hill you will never know. I have on occasion walked half way down the hill to fly my models although you do lose your landing spot. But will fly in less wind down there. 👍
It seems you and the little bird did remarkably well under the blustery conditions! I don't believe you have been out in near to optimum conditions for the model....yet. I bet it will be great fun in calmer and more consistent conditions, whether on the slope or off the high start. Happy flying!

I have some of these approx. 1.5m gliders from the 70s and 80s and I think I will "reactivate" them and try the control via pivoting wings, they are also only two servos, but with significantly better maneuverability, rudder and elevator control was never mine thing, too sluggish and usually without much effect when you need it, ... have you ever thought of such a type of control?
You’re talking about pitcheron models, where both wings work as ailerons. I have a part built model utilising this method of control. Unfortunately due to home circumstances the build came to an abrupt halt, but I need to get it finished soon.
@@A470RCSoaring Steve, with my little foamies I've taped thin lead "sheet" ballast bits as near the wing centre-section as possible -- to good effect! Fun stuff. love your videos, always.
