Most travel photography does not require telephoto end. A wide angle like 28 mm full frame equivalent is good enough. Lumix 14 mm f2.5 is great travel lens. With small cameras like GX800 it is pocketable setup.
I chose ZVE10, because it is really compact and have access to wide selection of E mount lenses. It doesn't have an EVF, but it has a fully articulating screen, which I love.
Great video. Been thinking of getting a micro 4/3 camera. Choosing between the lumix gm5 and the gx85. Which one would you recommend? Specs wise and long term( future proof). Looking for something small and pocketable so I won’t be lazy to bring it along. Planning to pair it with a 20mm f1.7. Thanks.
I would still prefer the GX85 for long term and your only camera. GM5 is also great but it lacks IBIS and articulating screen. The GX85 is not that much larger but it already packs some features that I think you will enjoy in the long run. Hope this helps 😁
Really appreciating your content and style. Curious about your thoughts about the GX85 versus the GX9. I’ve been looking at both. The 9 sure is more expensive but I do like the B+W profile option in the 9 as I do shoot some black and white. Any reasons other than price that you use the 85? Any thoughts on which to go with? Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words! I would definitely prefer a GX9 for sure if price wasn't a problem. The only benefit of using the GX85 is that it produces less crop when recording 4K video. The GX9 has some extra buttons and dials, especially that exposure compensation dial, which can come in handy if I'm shooting in aperture priority or shutter priority.

@@StefanHundhammer Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience, as I am still working on the decision. The cost difference on the used market is pretty substantial between the GX85 and GX9 right now - for the difference, you can buy a used lens. So it isn't an easy choice! Then, for the cost of a GX9, it gets close to an Olympus PEN-F. The used market seems a bit crazy right now like it got all stirred up with the FujiFilm X100V and everyone looking for rangefinder-style cameras as a result.
