No solid bedrock, but there is a blue clay layer that serves as a foundation. It was worked in the first spot. It holds some really nice gold there. And the river channeled a meter deep through the clay layer at it's current flow position. However on the bank the layer is much higher(just above water level) and very easy to scrape with a shovel.
