@@vreese3350Yes,she said that the couch is a sort of futon. She rolls it out when she’s gonna sleep. Her girlfriend also sleeps there when she visits. It starts att 05.50.
I like how this actually has a kitchen and bathroom. All these NYC people on RU-vid are like, "Yeah, I live in 100 sq feet! The bathroom is out here down the hall and all I have is a microwave."
It's not a studio if it doesn't have it's own bathroom and kitchenette. It's a room for rent. Don't let NYC realtors fool you with their bs terminology.
That was nice. I love the lights. And plants are so important in a small space because they take in all that carbon dioxide we exhale with every breath. They keep the carbon (essential to plant growth) and put oxygen back in the air. Throw in light and moisture and plants will thrive. With a micro studio you have that cozy vibe built in, and you have made the most of it.
It's not a studio if it doesn't have it's own bathroom and kitchenette. It's a room for rent. Don't let the realtors fool you with their terminology. And technically "micro" studios are illegal in NYC but then again many housing things are in NYC
Micro apartments are illegal in NYC. A legal minimum is 150sq. ft. NOT including bathroom and kitchen in the square footage. With the 150 square feet you must additionally have Kitchen and bath. Kitchen MUST have stove, refrigerator, sink and a cabinet plus a vent (fire safety) and bathroom MUST have sink, toilet and shower or tube. This in Boston is most probably an illegal 'apartment' due to it's size. Have some dignity when searching for apartments. Don't settle on what these landlords are doing illegally to you. Plus an average prison cell in the US is 92 square feet.
flower, you are amazing , you have very early on realize your boundaries and limits , it took me years to realise I have OCD and that living with other people was a huge trigger that turned me worst . i live alone now in a little micro studio too (in london UK ) you look embarrassed please dont !! you are amazing and thank you for showing us thank you thank you !!
you changed my life by showing that table, I will be moving to a studio soon and will be buying one for myself!! beautiful space, thank you for sharing. :)
im downsizing to a smaller apartment and was worried about how to fit everything... but this is proof that it can be done since my new apartment will be bigger yours and isn't a studio. Thank you for the inspiration!
I had that glass coffee table in my last apartment...so nice...I highly recommend it too !! (check multiple sites though, the prices can high to more affordable depending on where you look).
Gracie, your studio looks fantastic! You've done a wonderful job with your layout and decor. 🧡 Would you do another video showing longer shots all around your place? I'm moving into an efficiency in and would love to see a total view of what you've done. Our style seems to be the same.
Yes, for sure! I have a more in-depth tour of my kitchen, and plan to do more of other sections of my apartment. You can find the kitchen one here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zCqrCrWrHP8.html
I love this! I live in a 450 square foot studio and am trying to learn to be more minimalist after watching The Minimalist documentaries on Netflix. Such great ideas here! Plus I love Bernie sticker on your computer and I have that same medication yoga bolster - it is so versatile!
Your micro-studio is really beautifully put together. I lie that it comes with a bathroom. I think you have done an amazing job! Well done. Your space is warm, cosy and really eclectic. Authentic on every level. Love it! Well done x x
This is 1/5 the size of my studio apartment in the Midwest and I’m trying to picture what section of my place that would be. So tiny! Nice for what it is though.
Interesting video. I live in boston too. It is absolutely ridiculous how expensive it is. I'd go as far as saying we are experiencing a housing crisis in Boston. I really think you did a good job especially on a budget. You are in a very convenient location. You used to be able to get more outside of Boston but now that's expensive too.
Can you list where you bought the over microwave counter and the high counter height table where you have your two black stools? Also your folding couch?
Okay first let me tell you I just love your place.. I think the setup you did was great.. in love with that little kitchen.. this is one of the best places I've ever seen in micro mini studios.. you're lucky too because ,you have a bathroom a lot of them don't. You have to share the bathroom😮. I feel right at home if this was my place great job at decorating.. and it's crazy how high rent has gone up now people are raising prices crazy everywhere.. do you pay a lot for your micro mini studio? .. you got an A+ for your place I love it!!
Way to go.., I lost my place in 2013 lived with family friend for 5 yrs. Went briefly into mental health facility which opened up the opportunity to get into mental health supportive housing in studio apartment that receives a subsidy. Nothing like living on your own in your own space no matter how big.
What a great use of space! Well done! :) I just wish you'd spent a little more time showing us the space rather than cutting back to you, then to the space, then to you again. I had to pause a couple of times to actually look at the space itself properly. Very clever solutions there !
Would you be able to get like a loft bed so then you have more space? Because I’ve seen from like small apartments and like I think people should like get lofted beds I know those cheap ones from IKEA just so they have more floor space.
I know at the time of this video, you don't have kids but do you have any ideas for organizing with a kid in a small space. I've a kid in a 487 sq foot studio lol
Very nicely done. The video was a little annoying because just as I was trying to take in the decor it would flash back to you talking. I had to rewind and pause several times to take in the decor without interruption.
If capitalism sucks...how do you have your own place? How do you have a job? Where is your $$ coming from? Just wondering how anybody would own stuff without capitalism.
Fantastic job decorating; your micro looks so cozy. I can imagine snow falling outside, and being cuddled up in there. I am impressed how you made your home so functional. Btw love the trellis with the lights on it super cute.
I'm just about to rent a micro studio in London and I cannot, CANNOT, thank you enough for these tips! Going to order the Wayfair table and the microwave storage rack, this is brilliant thank you so much! x
I had something like this when I first moved out on my own many years ago. I got because it I wanted an extra bed. My first apartment had a tiny bedroom and all I had at the time was my twin bed from my family home. I sleep in a queen sized bed now. Isarely 51'' Square Arm Sofa Bed from Wayfair.
