Mine is doing exactly the same thing as yours and 2 broken props later I'm glad I've seen your channel for pointers in the right direction as i too have been scratching my head. I'll get to the bottom of it like you and very much hope yours flies ok after the re working. Thanks for the vids.

Mark, thank you for your comments. This is the whole point of my channel and so you have encouraged me to find the solution. Now that I have straightened things out and added weight, the last thing is a properly working RX. Receiver. The supplied magnet is weak, and so I hope the much stronger magnet added will keep things in line. These are design faults. You see, it’s like a car factory, not every car at the end of the line starts first time. So, we must work out the problem and fix it. Be assured that as soon as I have all the solution, I will post it. Don’t give up, many would.

I will give it a good shot! As a point of interest, part 9 the final assembly was finely posted this morning, 4 weeks after I started the build. I reckon Jon must have used some of my ideas. 🧐🤔🤗

That’s why I do these video’s. I meet up with others and discuss solutions. It would seem they are in a rush to sell a product with out trials first. I suggest leaving out the mock engine. You will get a much faster model. Also, next time, I will touch up parts with ink or paint the parts that need covering with tapes. It will fly, but don’t expect aerobatics.

Don't forget to add the small piece in between the wheels shown in Jons Last video 9 out this morning. I see yours is missing it will add a bit of nose weight ? Top wings top of Fuss (gun area) and horizontal stabiliser all be level and the balance point on the fold in top wing plenty of Dihedral is required yours seems to be a little flat (may be the piccys/video) Videos are great enjoyed your build at least you are making a go of it (first build) SE5 was mine flew straight out of my hand as did the Bristol. Regards

Thank you for the tip, I pulled out the part and weighed it. 0.07g. So almost nothing. Worth a try though! You have mentioned this before as I recall, but I had no term of reference until now. I will add a little more dihedral, I just did not want to force it too much as this is so delicate. The SE5@ is my favourite, and have built many, the up side is they have a longer nose, so easier to balance out. Thank you for your comment, I read every one and value the tips.

It looks beautiful. I know that's always adds to the frustration when flying is at issue. I have the same issue with my Micro L19 Birddog I built in early December. I think it was a tail heavy issue and weight added seened to give me proper flight but it was winter & too cold to go further. It awaits spring in NY's Catskills.

Hi, well micro aircraft of this type is fairly new to me. But, the principals are the same for any aircraft. More so as this design has a small nose unlike the SE5a. And so nose weight will be an issue. I tried my best to keep the tail weight to a minimum as I knew this to be important. I once visited New York in January, my word it was cold. Let me know how you get on please.

Issues to sort which adds to the frustration but also the sense of achievement when you crack it. I'll bet you can't wait to try again.

The wires on those little motors are so ridiculously fine I am nervous to even strip the ends I have a couple flight packs waiting to be put together . I am really hesitant to attempt to solder everything together . I can't even find wire that fine to practice on .

Hi Diceman, well it takes a little practice, but there are one or two ways to strip the insulation of a cable. One way I use is to run a knife around the cable and then just pinch the insulation off with my finger nails. You can burn off the insulation with a lighter, but its personal choice. I use helping hands to solder in all cases, these are shown in the background of the video. Worth every penny. Then dip the ends in flux, bring the iron to heat, then tin the Iron. Then touch the wires with the Iron and the solder will flow easily. ❤

I think you're the ideal person to try and sort out the problems you're having, I can see anybody else just junking it! Incidentally when you do add weight inside the cowl make sure it's not the side where the cylinders are closest due to the side and down thrust 🤔👍

Oh don’t worry Cliff, I have already thought about where to put the extra weight. Thank you for the compliment. Top man. ❤️
