Ethan Brown, neurologist at UCSF Medical, explores the gut-brain connection in Parkinson's Disease in this Lunch & Learn seminar recorded March 17, 2021. His current research on the Braak hypothesis suggests that the earliest signs of Parkinson's may be found in the enteric nervous system (also known as the brain in the gut). He also explains the interventional drug trials now in progress at UCSF. Concludes with participant Q & A.
For more information, or to participate in research study, contact Danilo Romero, Research Coordinator, danilo.romero@ucsf.edu, or call (707) 334-3737.

My husband is presenting with daily headaches which are worse when he lays down. He says the pain is in both temples. Has had MRI, EEG, been checked for arteritis. Dr's cannot find anything. He is having hallucinations (auditory, visual, & even olfactory & tactile) 24/7. Of course, hallucinations are about people stealing from him & trying to kill him, etc. Could that be cause of headaches? Do you have any info. on headaches & Parkinson? He is also believed to have Lewy Body Dementia. Thanks. FYI He was having constipation issues but they have completely disappeared with my learning how to ferment foods. We eat fermented cabbage & drink Kombucha. He loves both & has not had constipation since. I had learned of the gut/brain connection a while ago which is why I started fermenting.
