Fifteen-year-old Keera Galindo was born with Microcephaly. Despite this handicap, the bouncy teenager participates in FFA, manages the cross country and track teams and competes in the Special Olympics.
I'm also in special education too, and I'm also listed as a learning disability person, and I'm blind that is my main disability, but I also have PTSD and ADHD. And I'm in intermediate band now, at first they didn't let me in, but I finally got in and I think the whole band class started to know me, and to get to know my disabilities better. It's like one whole family, I feel accepted and loved when I go to that class. ❤
Well, I do, but except for fact I started speaking at the age of 5 everything is fine. Now I've learn English and Japanese, that health issue somehow even helped me I guess, But i wish I just had a normal head, I feel so abnormal and not fiting in the society for which appearance makes difference. I don't go out that often because people look at me and i feel ashamed
@@deepdeephiii!!! I have a question! Do you have problems in learning and memorising things??? Asking cuz my 1-year-old brother is also microsphelic... so he hasn't achieved his milestones in time! Me and my fam are a lot worried!
what a beautiful young lady also have a very mild learning disability sometimes it's hard for me to learn normal like other people but socially I'm normal I could do like everybody else but when it has to learn I'm very delayed I have to have extra help and extra time to do things when I do things it takes a long time for me to do it and understand it but I am normal like everybody else I could do anything when I put my mind to it
The mom has a lot of pity, but the kid is actually thriving!! Seems the mom is discouraged of her child’s development although us viewers is watching Keera perform like a regular kid. Keera has tons of potential!! She should have more belief in her daughter.
Thank you for posting this video! I am a first time mom and one of my twins was diagnosed with microcephaly. It's been a very scary hill to climb. She is almost 8 months old and we are in the middle of doing all kinds of tests and dr appointments. I have/had no idea what to expect. Of course I threw myself into research but there really isn't that much positive info out there. I just wanted to say hi and thank you for sharing your beautiful daughters journey. It gives me hope that my daughter can have a positive outcome and live the best life she can. I was wondering if you could tell me if she hit her milestones on time or any other parent with a child who has microcephaly could give me advice on what to do for her? Like I said we have her going to all kinds of dr appointments just to gather as much information on her case of microcephaly. We also have a program (birth to 3) that is coming to the house for an assessment( early therapy) Like I said,it's all new to me and I never knew this existed so I'm just trying to take it all in and give her the best chance possible. God bless!
@@Godaround when my daughter was 2 months old l start, and she was doing good. Now we start with a krill oil, they say that is clean and easier to digest. My daughter is 2 years old now.

The only real glimpse of Keera's disability is when they show Keera writing in her journal @1:07 you can see some spelling errors and her hand writing looks like a child significantly younger than she is.
please make her an otoplasty for her ears n she will look normal at least i got her same condition im a male 31 years old with microcephaly and perfect brain
