Fistral Beach Newquay Cornwall is a prime location for the classic sea fishing experience, but it also has some of the coolest rock pools I've ever seen! I was lucky to spend a couple of hours on the beach hunting for some of the cool and qwerty fish that live in these rock pools.
Micro fishing is so much fun, discovering weird and wonderful looking fish, but rock pool fishing is also special because of how easy it is to do and accessibility for all anglers whether a novice or an expert!

Grew up near Newquay kestrel mill Quintral downs trout stream just across the road from the house and would go prawning and eating crab's and lobster and the odd Conger in a low tide pool hole using the poki fishing method at the Gannel would more inland go for seatrout on a raw live prawn on a starlight glow stick inserted into the float also had a few salmon too loved it there not so much comrcalised Newquay I loved fishing away were nobody else was just my pals and me happy days we loved goby and blenny fishing a little bamboo whip no longer than 3 ft a head eye tied on glued and rest sand paper and then varnish and a black gaffer tape covered handle 1_2lb line size 18 hooks and anything for bait limpitt lumps maggots mussels bits of etc

ITS LITERALLY JUST THE BEST and doesn’t matter how old you are it’s still great fun and the species always blow my mind! On light tackle they fight so hard as well haha! Lucky to have been brought up in such a great part of the world never mind the UK!!!!

@@japanesefishingadventures my wife and two Daughters go to Cornwall every summer and fish the rockpools your right the life is amazing once you have your eye in we also put the flesh of a bit of squid for bait in our palm wait big big prawns come in slowly we catch them by Nipping hold of the long antennae and put them in a bucket with seaweed a seawater nothing like fresh prawn to eat or use as bait TC tight lines and full pots of big cock lobsters👍🦈🐟🐠🐡🦐🦀🦀🦑 from Marcus

I thought I was the only person daft enough to do this, when I was a kid. I found light tackle worked best. A size 16 hook, and a small piece of limpet.

I mate! I was using tiny size 16’s for course fishing! What you’d use on a local commercial for skimmers etc! Tight lines and good luck! Ps the party never stops 😝 think in summer you’ll catch tonnes!
