This #tutorial about to create a rich ambient pad with #arturia #microfreak and Zoom #ms70cdr Welcome to Discord for additional community: / discord More patches like this from Donald Natale: • Arturia Microfreak Spa...
Nice job 👍🏼🏴☠️✌🏼 The Microfreak is such a versatile and powerful tool . I’m going to have a look at the Zoom maybe free up some space on my live rig. Cheers
I just got a MicroFreak a couple days ago. This video seems like a good primer for (a friend 😄) to begin making dark ambient music (because my “friend” likes that sort of sound 😉). Now this “friend” of mine doesn’t have any physical pedals, so he’ll have to set up some effects on miRack and be content with that! 😄👍🏼👍🏼
noise - dist - cutoff = done (it’s easier and faster to get to the sound, without the load of synth, and for experiments there are more opportunities to stick on top)
Thank you for comment. This is a stove from my old house that I left many years ago, it was an old wooden building with a gas stove and a stone gas heater with roof tube, for several apartments. A very atmospheric place! After some time I returned there to take some photos of this place and this photo perfectly reflects the aesthetics of the video. GAS-syndrome and the kitchen for cooking sounds. This is probably the best cover on channel, i think, with a hidden meaning.
Beautiful! I am going to follow along and try this tomorrow - thank you! Such a nicely made video too. Your style of explanation is so clear and reassuring; it’s a very enjoyable film and perfectly matches the sound you made. Wonderful. I have a question. Why is the black tape covering half of the ‘grain de folie’ slogan? I have seen this before and always wondered. My theory is that it’s about not promoting unkind mental health terms (‘folie’ = ‘madness’)… but I’m new to this scene so it could be something entirely different. Anyway - again, a lovely video and great tutorial. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment! I'm sure you can handle it. About black tape: this is a factory protective scotch, I didnt remove it. I didn't even know what it said before you asked 😅
Thanks for the comment ☘️ Yes, you can connect two synths, but it will mix into one stereo pair. and you can't process the left and right channel independently. Insert a mono compressor at the beginning of the chain to mix both synths into mono, then use stereo effects.
The video was great. Quite a learning kerb with sounds. I am tossing up between the Microfreak or the Korg Minilogue. Your view? I am aiming at creating ambient sounds like you do. I have a Roland Juno DS 61 to help out. What does your silver Korg box do? Do I need one?
If you choose Microfreak you need to think about what effects you will use for it because without them it sounds quite tiny. Also it work as sample player. You can consider Minifreak? It has built-in effects. Korg Minilogue has very beautyful build in effects and you can upload Many third-party effects and oscillators. I think minilogue more interesting than microfreak but MiniFreak so intetesyed too. About little Korg Box. It is Korg NTS-1 - Cheap diy synth with minilogue models gen. chip. It support sounds from minilogue/monologue and etc. If you want to try the sounds and effects from minilogue, but don't want to pay more than $150, then this is your choice.
Could you please describe your setup a bit more. Is the audio signal going directly from the microfreak into the Zoom-CDR and from there directly into your recording device? Is there no mixer involved? Maybe a stupid question, but I have the same setup, but behind the effect pedal I lose quite some volume. I am really a newbie concerning such setups. How do you use the microfreak together with an effect pedal in an optimal way? Thanks for any input. 🙏
Hi, Carl. I'm sorry, but a lot of time has passed since the recording and I did not save the presets then. I think it's easy enough to repeat. Сontact me if you have any questions discord.gg/WynfbQGDd7
@@dmitryleeo thank you for the reply! The cord on the left running out on the stereo output for the zoom pedal and into the tascam recorder, i’ve been looking for a stereo to 3.5mm
I think it's legendary pedal. You get a full-fledged sounddesign tool for low cost. Also download this preset manager you will get the entire set from all zoom ms pedals: www.zoomeffectmanager.com/en/ You may face the problem of background noise, take a look at my post about how to get rid: www.elektronauts.com/t/zoom-ms-70-cdr/37722/178 You won't regret the money it costs!
Yes, you can do this. Use delay plugins where you can modulate pitch of delays, like Waves 2tap, Waves H-delay. Good reverbs for this: audio damage EOS 1-2, Valhalla. Use long time for feedback and delay time.
Hello, Christopher. The reason is to get away from the computer, play the instrument without looking at the computer screen, without starting daw, this called dawless, there is a rather detailed answer in this thread on reddit: www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/comments/e4gvih/what_are_the_pros_and_cons_of_a_dawless_setup_vs/
My problem with the MS70CDR is that its sound is too characteristic, too dominant. No matter what synth you put this thing on it will always sound the same
I'm glad you found this useful. Love MF I recently took it to a party with friends and it generated a lot of interest in how it plays live. thanks for the comment🦋
does the Ambient sounds come with the Microfreak ? how are the sounds that come with it ? and i saw the sound packs you can buy ..i am thinking of buying this soon and i just sub to you .........stay safe and take care
Yes, all sounds from MF. I'm glad this video helped you. You will be able to create patches yourself without spending money on it. You can find link in the discription of this video with more free ambient patches from my YT friend. Thank you! Welcome to jam session livestream tonight, see ya!
Hi Dmitri, thanks for this interesting video. I have a microfreak, a zoom pedal & a tascam dr05x. I think you record you with the tascam, i know that it was possible . But Never tried.... So, Is it possible to know how you connect all your instruments between them to record in the tascam Thanks in advance.
Hi Serge! If you want to connect just like in the video, you need two cables. From Microfreak to Zoom, Jack 6.3 mono and Jack 6.3 mono. From Zoom to Tascam - two 6.3 mono jacks and one 3.5 stereo mini jack. Headphones or speakers to the Tascam recorder headphone output with monitoring enabled.
i loved all this tutorial,,honestly i know nothing about these stuffs, i started playing piano but i love so much synthwave and 8bits sound that i got ableton 11 but i don't know i thing on how make it via software. Every setting you do on this video make a sound so great that make me scream of happiness inside, i love so much this style of sound. I bought an midi on amazon, an budget one and i hope it can make some cool stuffs but it will arrives only on february,so until there i will be training and learning on my casio sa46,them i can tweak something in ableton... So i want to ask if its possible to do these sounds inside this software i got (ableton 11) ? Thank you so much for inspire me even more.
Hello, Sunny! Of course, you can do all of this on Ableton. But you need basic principles of synthesis. Read about: What is the generator, envelope, filters and modulation matrix to combine them. Also try installing plugins such as: Valhalla reverbs, Audio Damage EOS for long shimmering reverbs.
@@dmitryleeo thank you very much. The thing isnt about use techs its more about afordable or not. On my country its hard to find all of them and amazon dont sell many.. so its more viable on software. I will search and study all you told me. Thank you
