@xxxxcecexxxx Hi 👋🏽! I'm still in the process to get my hair back healthy before I do my actual install. I've been wearing mini twists and I love them. Have you started your journey? (Thank you for asking 😊)
Wow me too, I’m 10 months in and would love to speak to you on a few things like maintenance, budding stages etc. Whatever honestly 😂I haven’t come across many braidlocked people. Would you mind?
I have Sister locs which are micro looking .This has been confusing for a lot of people but I would like to agree with you that the grid and interlocking, mostly are what gives sister locs their name and I absolutely love my grid❤. I can part my hair either way/any direction and it will always look neat 🥰
It’s so funny because my current locticians are sisterlocs registered and she doesn’t maintain my grid. When I have my hair retied in Lagos all my lines were restored and sharp lol. I don’t mind personally but I’m happy you got the look and the style that you wanted, that’s all that matters.
I finally flew to Nigeria and loc’d my hair….microlocs with interlocking method. 452 locs. Thank you, for being one of my locspirations! Decided to finally do it, after coming across your channel. Your hair is gorgeous!
Ill be 3yrs on my microlocs journey this October and many have mistaken my microlocs for sistalocs. I was a loose natural for several years but knew I wanted to loc my hair at some point. Like you I knew I wanted small/tiny locs because I wanted it to resemble my loose natural hair. I chose microlocs because I want the flexibility as mine were started with two-strand twists and I need to be able to design my own maintenance schedule/routine. My loctician maintains my locs and she understands how my regimen is based on what my locs need at that moment.
I'm in the same boat as you were! I'm currently a loose natural, and thinking of getting microlocs because I want it to mirror my loose natural hair!! I had medium size locs before and enjoyed them but cut them after 5 yrs before the pandemic. But I want a mix between the loose natural look with the maintenance regimen of locs. Does it actually mimic your loose natural hair?? I love the body and volume my loose natural hair has and I found with my set of locs before that it was very flat as it grew longer...maybe because of the size, length and weight of them? Appreciate you sharing your journey!
I have micro sisterlocks, but honestly looking back its really the same as microlocs, except the grid and tool. My loctician does both and I think they look the same. If you have to chose I would say get the microlocs and save the money b/c they really look the same both very pretty if you like locs and want versatility. Your hair is beautiful
Hello! Thanks for the video...great information. I have had Sisterlocks for eight months and I adore them. Just wanted to clarify that Sisterlocks come in three sizes that should be created based on density and grid pattern for individuals. Be well!
I have microlocs and everyone asks if I have sisterlocs. It's nearly impossible to distinguish. 4 months in and the only regret is that I wished I would have done this years ago. Best hair decision ever 🤎
I completely agree with everything you said! I'll be 3yrs locd this October but feel like I missed out on so much time... it's like I was meant to be locd
I have sister locks and quite a few. I love the best hair decision, but I am learning now there isn’t a big difference beyond the grid. I honestly could have paid less for the same look, but none the less wouldn’t go back in time to change getting them.
Thank you for this video. I’m saving up for the instillation. The cheapest price I’ve gotten so far is $600 for the first 6hrs. I’m ready now. The more I watch your videos, the more I want it.
This is so helpful! I'm currently a baldie but I've been considering growing my hair out so I can get locs. I came across your Renaissance video on Tik Tok a while back and just subscribed to your channel. I've been binging your vlogs and other videos lol, such amazing content!
This video is helpful. I had sisterlocs for 3 years, unfortunately the accountability for bad work within the sisterloc community isn't there. Ive heard so many horror stories and unprofessionalism. There seems to be no checks and balances but the consultants are certified. I also find the sl community clickish and nasty attitudes. Majoring in minors based on number of locs you have, etc. Im relocking with microlocs this Fall. The SL reputation from leadership on down is on the decline and terrible. Dr. Cornwell was very unprofessional on a panel with the Creator of microlocs. Smh
Actually braidlocs takes the longest to loc and the pattern to disappear. I have two strand twist 13-months almost 14 months microloc and I get people asking me are those sisterlocs. So they will look exactly the same when they mature. Only thing I would have changed is gotten this done 10 plus years ago and got sisterlocs because I would like more locks and smaller ones. But my loctician did tell me I got the smallest two strand twists she's ever done on a client 🙃. So that made me feel good. All in all the best decision i ever made just wish I knew about these back when i went natural again in 2007/2008. Beautiful locs....cant wait to see how mine look at the 2.5 year mark. Because mine still not lock...😊
Lol....I know I get the same thing because they will look exactly like sisterlocs when they mature. Usually, nobody but the loc community will know the difference anyway...🤷🏾♀️😆
I was looking for a video to share with a friend who thinks that because I did my locks myself its not micro locks it is dreads smh. Thank you for a clear and concise explanation
I just want to say that your locks are absolutely gorgeous! KUDOS!! Do you have sister-locks or micro-locs, and when they are the same.? I want to get locks, but don't have much understand how locks should work and should be started. Your info is wonderful! Thank you!
I have very thin hair and is considering microlocs what do you think. I had dread locks for about 20 years, before cutting them which I regreted to this day. Your hair is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing very helpful information l did my micro locs l love them but l swim every day they shrunk so much now but my hair dresser said l should just trust the process
I wanna get sister locks but the cost in frightening, if you guys know any salon (In Brooklyn) that can give sister locks for a affordable price, I would love that!
I have sisterlocks (1 year), and when i have to do my retightening, it takes overall a day because i have to take a bus to go to my loctician (who is certified). So i have to pay for the bus + the retightening fee. It’s just that i started looking for someone near me, especially since my loctician won’t take clients on weekends anymore and i can’t go so far during the week because of my job. The person i found said she does microlocks/ and microtwists, and that the technique to retighten sisterlocks and microlocks is the same (interlocking). I wanted to have other opinions… Is it true? Do you think i can loose my grid? I’m afraid to do a bad move since my sisterlocks were expensive, and i love my hair and i don’t want to mess up.
The micro and sister look so similar so I’m leaning more toward micro because there are more stylist in my area to do reties. For sisterlocks, they are far far lol This is not attractive after a work day or a day with 3 kids
This video is disrespectful to the AA curator of Sisterlocks, Dr. JoAnne Cornwell. Even the New York Times said her name! Sisterlocks is a trademarked company founded in 1993 by Dr. JoAnne Cornwell.
