I've been using the VT reedle shot for 10 months now (100, 300 & 700). My skin has never been better! I'm not worried about the spicules not shedding, they come out in 72 hrs. I've never felt any discomfort nor have they gone into my eye. I used to microneedle at home & this has made it so much more convenient. The sensation was never negative for me, maybe because I used to use actual needles. It does take some getting used to & the prickly feeling does go away after you apply skincare & are no longer touching your face. I honestly can't even feel the 100 & 300 anymore & 700 does still give me light prickly sensation. I'm just in love with the fact that these products helps absorb/ deliver the skincare into your skin.
I’ve been using the VT Needle shot as well since it came out. I used it for 5 months and my skin was its best for months.. I didn’t know which product i was using that was making my skin texture like glass.. so i stopped using it for 6 months and i now know… my skin was so great because of the VT needle shot…. I was also sceptical of the technology… but i’m a very strong believer. Sometimes these dermatologists are not up to date with the current trends and technology, though most skin tech are commercialised scams, I can only speak of the VT brand and its part of my holy grail regime.
Love Dr Shah and Dr.Maxfield. Always respect their advice. I believe most of your followers are aware of Mikayla and do not have much thought about her opinion or respect for her. Love yall though ❤Thank you for all the guidance you give us.
Gah I'm trying really hard not to be super disappointed by Dr Shahs opinion of Mikayla - I'm not a fan of her because she doesn't know how to tell the truth, EVER. BUT regardless of dr's opinion of her, I'm really excited to hear both of your opinions on this product. I've been debating trying one out!
I have been using the VT reedle shot 300 for about 3 months, I don’t have sensitive skin but I can definitely see a lot of improvement, my texture is gone and my red spots… I love it. This isn’t a influencer beauty product recommendation, this is in fact very popular in Korea and it’s a best seller at olive young, you can even check how much you tolerate like they have reedle shot 50, 100, 300, 700, 1000. Sometimes we’re afraid to try something new, but in personal experience this product is amazing.
I received the VT 100 bottle in an advent calendar. I tested it in my inner elbow, back in January. I had a rash within 24 hours. I had a reoccurring smaller rash every few weeks for three months. I am so happy I used it on my arm and not on my face!!
This needle phobe is taking a hard pass. I’ve worked with fiberglass, too, and it is most unpleasant. Why would I want that on my face? My motto is: no pain, no pain.
Vt reedle uses the exact same technique and there’s no scientific evidence that the reedles will eventually be absorbed into the skin over time. So until more research is done, I’m not taking the risks of what will happen if the skin can’t absorb it.
Same!! Dr Dray touched on the potential risk of the skin rejecting foreign objects when she was reviewing the VT reedle shot so I was hoping to see Dr Shaw and M raise any concerns about these products 😯
They are normally very kind in their negative reviews. I think it was James Welsh who showed the studies on silicone left under the skin (a different form from this product). Silicone can linger for over a decade. This thing doesn't dissolve and if your body doesn't push it out, it will absorb it and maybe end up in your blood stream.
I have been searching high & low for credible reviews on this so called microneedles in a bottle. Im so grateful that you made this video for us. Thank you so much for this info
I would love to have you do a video on the high-priced German brands of skincare like Young Goose and Auteur to tell us whether we really would be getting "more effective" ingredients if used.
I’m surprised to see this video on a single item like this. How about comparing it to the other brands that have similar spicule products. The VT 100 does not hurt me or bother my skin and has different ingredients, so I would have loved to see you compare it to that at greater length and also to the be isntree one.
I've been using the VT Reedle Shot for a few weeks, and I've definitely noticed an improvement in my skin. Initially, there was no major change, but with regular use, my skin is now much firmer and more vibrant!! It’s become a must-have in my routine✨
@@suzannelevesque8368 As far as I understand, one of the purpose is to help products be absorbed into the skin. So as a 60+ skin myself I am assuming anything I use will be absorbed better. So I am all for it.
@@suzannelevesque8368 i have been using it and my skin looks very nice as a mature women- However if you have sensitive skin or you skin barrier is not strong- then do a patch test-
I used VT reedleshot for 2 weeks and I’ve seen more improvement in that 2 uses than I’ve seen in my entire life. But doctors brought up a relatable point- my eyes hurt! I was convinced the spicules were getting into my eyes and because of that I’ve stopped using it entirely no matter how effective it is for me. What a pity.
This seems very similar to the VT Reedle Shot, which I did not enjoy. I applied it at night, carefully avoiding my eyes, but the next day when applying sunscreen I seemed to get some of it in my eye, since I like to get my sunscreen very close to my eyes. As they say, the spicules remain in the skin for 72 hours and you can feel them pricking you when rubbing in skincare on the days following application. This was tolerable, but getting them in my eye was not tolerable. 😢
I use the VT Reedle Shot 100 and my skin has definitely improved. I use it before I apply my skin care and it’s not uncomfortable at all. Saying that, the Medicibe 2000 or more Sounds like a lot.
I have to say that I struggled with texture on my cheek and everything I tried didn’t work until I tried this product. I was skeptical but now I’m sold.
That's wy I staying with the VT Reedle shot 100. Super mild and not painful or inconfortable for me. It's been 5 weeks and I saw a pretty big change in my skin.
I have been using VT reeddle shot 100, 300, 700 for about a month now and they have done wonders for my pores. My skin looks better than it did 20 years ago. I have super sensitive skin and they have not irritated my skin. I always use serums on top and top off with a hydrating lotion. You do get used to the prickliness and now I don't even feel it anymore. I have never had these spicules go in my eyes. You must wash your face in the morning to get rid of the spicules.
The thing is we don't know what happens with long-term use. The silicone stays, at least some of it, in your skin. What if it accumulates? Leads to cancer or autoimmune conditions? We don't know. No studies, no long-term data.
Huh, they cover this at the end. Also, Silica is not the same thing as Silicone. Different. It’s certainly entirely different product from the Silicone that was injected under the skin in the past with awful results. All products were once new on the market, data is collected over longer term usage and their safety determined, however these products will have been internally tested by the company releasing it and had to pass the stringent safety standards in South Korea.
I adore this serum! I'm using 2000 and it makes my pores smaller and my skin is so smooth. I'm also using retinal on alternate days, and these 2 are just magic. Pain level becomes lower with frequent use
Has anyone given any thought to what happens to these spicules when they're eventually rinsed off and go down the drain? What is the impact on the environment?
We've used sponge powder in easten Europe for ages. Mostly for arthritis - and it is quite effective. There is also a home remedy for hyperpigmentation and acne. But i also hate it😂 and it gives me rosacea like flares even the next day. But i know many people who loves it. Also keep in mind it can get to your eye (and it happens) - you will be in trouble
I used these products and they do in fact work but the vague instructions are very worrisome. There’s a learning curve to them. If you have experience with micro needling then you prep and aftercare should be pretty much the same. Wash and dry your face thoroughly. You can use a toner afterwards if you want. Apply 4-6 pumps of product. Then whatever spot treatments you use and next follow up with a light moisturizer. Please only do this at night before bed and expect redness and inflammation like you would with mirconeedling. It’s adamant you use a sunscreen with this product during the day. The only difference is you don’t need to sterilize and these are more gentle so you can use them twice a week.
I've tried both, but VT Reedle Shot is original and it's better, yes it hurts - but the absorption is sooo much better! Vitamin C & Reedle Shot is just amazing
For now but there’s no scientific evidence or even much testing on the spicules or whether they absorb. Your body could see them as a foreign body and react accordingly, which isn’t something anyone would want.
I’m pretty shocked and incred disappointed you didn’t speak about the long term potential consequences. Really thought you would have and should have mentioned how unsafe they can be and cause granuloma formation in the skin several years later . And you really should have dons this on vt reedle shot- the medicube isn’t very well known whereas vt reedle is what every one is talking about ( you just mentioned if briefly at the end)
The reason why they didn’t mention anything about its long-term usage is because they literally said there isn’t enough data on this tech yet, so please stop fear mongering.
Stop lying. Provide the research. There is literally no research on that 😂 how will you have granuloma formation if there is no research. Those are merely assumptions by another YT dermatologist.
Is there a concern about this similar to those about dermarollers where instead of controlled punctures, you are dragging needles and causing scratches?
Thanks for the review. Do you both have the same concerns as Dr Dray about spicules (VT Reedle Shot) embedding into skin and causing bumps years down the track?
I use the Korean VP Reedle version and have seen tremendous results. My pores are drastically different and the usual toners and serums are more effective. The dark circles and lines around my eyes are reduced.
Omg we had fiberglass in the house and was on the face but I can tell you that my skin looked great after the clean up . We had tree fall on my room on the house . But ya I felt the fiberglass for a month
There are lots of this type of Korean products and l think they are good. I was suspicious at first but after using them (experiments on my face), I realized my skin is better. I didn't have any side effects.
hey, you should review more of this kind of serum (w microneedles). This has been trend for a good year I guess, so there’s other brands, like VT cosmetics or isntree ❤
ahhh i use the reedle shot from vt cosmetics and it’s helped my skin texture! yes there’s a prickly feeling but it goes away after 20 seconds, and my skin doesn’t have any bad reactions after. i used it as my first step in a routine, which is odd for me bc it’s a serum texture and i do toner right after face wash BUT with the way it performs for ME, it works and is prob my new favorite product in my routine
What about layering with other hydrating products on top? Will they penatrate more? I use the reedle shot 100 under an hydrating mask for 30 minutes and thats it, because, as you said, it's really uncomfortable so i can take without moving for 30 minutes, avoiding the eye area
I truly grateful the we have such these amazing dermatologist tryna educate us. Dr Dray already addressed this, and here we are another doctors raise this issue. first ever I heard about this specules, really scaring me. it's almost to the unknown. probably not much research, yet we could get this OTC 😐
Dr. Shah: "I have not tried it on my face...I REFUSE to try it on my face." Dr. Maxfield: "I did use this on my face...I don't really desire to do it again." Me: Do. NOT. Want. 🚫 Sounds like something that should be in the next 'Saw' movie...
Dr. Shah, I have never seen you being so diplomatic! Please next time, just say "hell NO!"! For the serious side, How does this compare to the Drmtgly Needless serum? Another video? Oh, there is no way I would use that on my skin. Are you both willing to do a review on all of Medicube's lotion/liquids? I do love the one device that I have from them, but, now am so afraid of using the C-Serum that came with it. You both are the best! Chattanooga is lucky to have you Dr. Maxfield!
Ingredients wise, there's almost no comparison. I use the needle-less serum, I love it. This medicube serum only has niacinamide, adenosine and some hydrating ingredients. No peptides or anything.
Thanks once again for the review. Appreciate information from people who are qualified. VT Reedle that so many are referring too. Would love you to do a deep dive into that. Never heard of it before.
This product which is intended for ‘at home’ use of a traditionally in office procedure by professionals such as yourself - in theory sounds exciting, but also scary. There’s hardly ever mention of how these affect skin of color. Would you kindly do a video on lasers, micro needling, and other at home procedures , with a mention of how it affects skin of color? Or maybe a video dedicated to this? Would greatly appreciate your informed , educated commentary . Thanks! ❤
I've tried VT's Riddle Shot, and it definitely feels like it absorbs into the skin better than other products. It felt like getting a spiculing treatment at home. Maybe that's why my skin condition has been steadily improving. I'm currently using the Riddle Shot 100, and I'm planning to purchase a higher level to focus more on my skincare routine! There's a reason it ranked No. 1 at Olive Young in Korea.😳
I used VT reedle shot for about half year and it just changed my skin texture. I had oily skin , acne and pores problems before. After using VT 100, my skin obviously have less oil and it become smooth and soft day by day. Combine with the layer up of retinol and vitamin C, I’ve never ever have that good skin condition. My acne scar still there but I am no longer suffer from the break out anymore. I think it’s worth it to have a try it if you have the same problem.
I really appreciate the thorough and insightful reviews you both provide on different skincare products. Your expertise has been incredibly helpful in guiding my skincare routine. I recently came across a product called Soma Derm from New U life that claims to make your skin look 10 years younger and it improves bone density as well. I would love to hear your professional opinion on this product. Could you please evaluate its ingredients, effectiveness, and any potential concerns? It would be great to get your take on whether this product lives up to its claims and if it’s worth trying. Thank you so much for all the valuable information you share!
Will you please review PDRN or the latest craze in K-Beauty based on salmon sperm DNA (vegan versions also available)? Some of the claims sound dubious and not sure if this is safe to put on your skin?
These kinds of products (brands like VT and Medicube) are really a boom in Asia regions. Commercials are everywhere. But I am still have questions about this technology. I would rather go to have needling by a Doctor... At least the "needles" is equipment and will not be stayed in my skin.
I use it every 3 days as directed and the feeling is not uncomfortable to me at all. Yes I feel it but not to any degree that would make me stop using it.
