Hi Andy great video as always. Just some clarification on permissions. Contribute in SP does allow deleteling items. Difference between edit and contribute is that edit permission level gives people the ability to add / edit libraries and list settings. Contribute allows edit at the item level only. Restricted view is like read only. You can view items. However it blocks download and printing. Not really a security feature but handy if you want to ensure someone is not downloading and sharing your content.

Great Channel

Hi Andy, thank you for another great video. I've been busy and haven't been able to keep up with your videos. I have a lot to say after watching this one. I will try to keep it short and to the point. Microsoft has really invested in their infrastructure systems. The amount of data and the hardware to house that data is massive. I appreciate that they give us the freedom to handle data but I do often wonder why some of the features they offer aren't set to "most restricted" access when deploying things. Obviously, we don't want them to control how we do things but it might be a good idea to have some of these features turned on by default. For instance, protecting credit card information and restricting or notifying users of sensitive data that they are about to email out etc. Why isn't all email encrypted now days? The amount of settings that are offered are nice. Having said that, M365 needs at least one full time person managing it. The more I watch your videos the more I realize the amount of work I have on my list of things to do. I think it's nice of you to spend your time educating all of us. Keep up the good work!

Hi Andy, thanks for the great content as always. Regarding 24:00 about the SharePoint & OneDrive Sharing policy: Assume that new and existing guests already had "access to certain files by signing in". If I switch the policy to "Only people in your organization", will existing guests still have access to older existing files or will those older files be blocked for them immediately as well?

If I do the data retention for a Team or member staff who has left how do I then access the data?
