Microsoft Build 2024 Keynote
It all started with Satya Nadella inspiring us with what we can build with AI, he talked about OpenAI cooperation, LLMs and SMLs (Phi3 models are to watch), Microsoft 365 AI features, and of course, how everything is extensible.
@Microsoft builds platforms for others to build on.
Copilots
After talked with some Microsoft folks, they mentioned that there are 80+ copilots/assistants and they all eventually permit extensions, context sharing, etc. Copilot is everywhere: Windows, Edge, Standalone app, @GitHub , @Microsoft365 (including @MicrosoftTeams , @visualstudio and #sharepoint).
GitHub Copilot Workspaces and extensions
GitHub Copilot writes code, update docs, creates issues, collaborate and much more. And we can be part of the journey.
Our current GitHub apps can be extended to support Copilot Extensibility. Virtual agents/bots with skills and actions are the big theme. Chat bots hope of 2016-2017 is back, but called differently and with more tools at our disposal. F.e. #Azure OpenAI, #azuredevops, AI Studio, etc.
I signed us up for the private beta for GitHub Workspace Copilot builders!
On-Premise AI deployments
Microsoft is also pushing on-premise AI and task specific models like Phi-3.

Want to build your own Copilot?
VP of Engineering from GitHub shared and demo'ed GitHub Copilot. Yes, we can build our own, would be crazy, but of course, everything is possible.
Microsoft Defenders
I’ve seen Microsoft Defender in action many times for networks, it blocked our apps on the customers side. So I went and talked with Karen Dahmen, Group PM at Microsoft. It appeared that there are many Defenders - Microsoft 365, Networks, PCs, @MicrosoftAzure , etc.
We may explore helping customers to extends and integrate with Defenders.

I am a fan of @BMW , so attended a session about their mobile journey, and to see some cars :wink:
Microsoft Teams extensions
Yes, @MicrosoftTeams with its chat interface is one of the focus points of all this.
Imagine you can get questions answers in Teams using all the knowledge your company posses - the demos looked inspiring and crazy.
You can bring data from systems, use the Microsoft Graph APIs, 3rd party agents, do some crazy actions, what is more interesting, agents can interact with each other and do the job for you. Sounds bananas.
Not everything is here, of course, but the story is inspiring and we WILL be part of this story, we must.
