Xbox being back on track is the most exciting thing in gaming for years. I was so happy with their presentation that I literally went the next day and bought a Series X (after owning a S since 2021) Just finished Still Wakes the Deep (it was good) and can't wait for the stuff that is coming and playing Battlefield with 120 fps is nuts

I love single player story driven but I love multiplayer as well…there’s gotta be room for both

One multiplayer game I would like to see on game pass is the Old Republic but that probably will never happen? I purchased this game when it first came out and would love to see an Xbox version.

Xbox first party games & Series X are for OG fans. XCloud & Series S are for agnostics (or those with budget constraints). GamePass is for everyone. Is how I see it.

The latest Xbox showcase is something we should've seen three years ago, but better late than never. It occurs to me that the longer console generations we have now are the ONLY reason it's even kind of acceptable for there to be so few heavy hitters nearly four years into a console generation. If console generations were the way they were 20 years ago, we would be looking at a next-gen Xbox console either this year or next year, making the current Xbox generation a bust.

Multiplayer sucks but bl pulls it off...and owning a rig is just so much easier than constantly wasting money on a console every 1-3 years...

Neither Redfall or Minecraft Legends were live service games you just had the ability to play the main story with friends, even Forza has a single player campaign and a traditional multiplayer section, yes there are content drops but there have been car pack DLCs long before the term "Live Service" so its a bit a stretch to call it a live service game , someone who is commenting on the industry should know some basic terminology, and since when does a games company need to support essentially what is a one a done experience for ever?

Idk I've had nothing but problems and bugs with the x series and it's very disappointing that my old og Xbox one works better for play certain games that the series x and s is supposed to be better but it's just as bad if not worse seems like there caring more about graphics than actually having something that plays as intended then they trashed all and every game that works perfectly on consoles without lagging glitching freezing and crashing at this point pc really is the best option for gaming now only because you can actually build them to work as intended and since the most work is done for playing the games on PC you will definitely have less problems than consoles it's sad

Wdym we need more co op games at least like open world fallout with private or public servers allowing two different players/friends games to merge, fallout 76 sucked it’s compacted fully multiplayer and they could have done a lot better it was not the fallout four online we wanted also your right there’s a lot of good open world single player games with good story modes but rarely any small multiplayer games like the single player ones tho can’t enjoy a good story or open world with a friend like boarder lands anymore we need old xbox

Put 2 hdmi out for two player games on two screens instead of 8k 60fps.. give me 4k 120 fps two screens ... and fix so i can play with my kid on two xbox on the same wifi

They need to focus on a campaign, and have multiplayer come second if even, like Classic CoD games, but what would be really nice. Is if we let go of multiplayer a bit, and focus on Co-op. Imagine getting just, one REALLY good story and running it with friends.

I agree as I rarely play multiplayer games. I like my stories and glad that Xbox is committing to such story driven games again.

Multiplayer like in borderlands would be nice in alot of the singleplayer style games.

It’s true. You want to be apart of a tribe. It’s an evolutionary need. PC master race tries to be their own “console” but they really aren’t because everyone’s pc is different and they shit on eachother because ones rtx 3060 is a peasant to the next’s 4080 super. Console users are united in their own tribes.

I pretty much stopped playing single player games. Too old for that but I love me a good coop game like gears, Halo etc… I would actually play more games if they had coop because I prefer to play with friends and not always necessarily multiplayer because they are usually too competitive or just not good. Now I like cod and battlefield especially the older battlefield like battlefield 4 and battlefield 1 which were just awesome multiplayer games. Too bad about sbmm, it’s really ruined cod for me. Haven’t played in a long while. I played redfall because of coop. It just felt slow and not enough action. For me single player would not have saved. I guess I prefer a straight up story mode like gears and not a fan of open world. I don’t really like meeting characters in open world games and talking with them to discover stuff. I just want to play and get into the action as long as there are some breaks and pauses because non stop action does get exhausting. So I say keep coop games coming.

While I agree that console wars benefit consumers, in the long run, it's an unsustainable business model for the industry, especially as games become more expensive to produce. I & others propose a middle ground / happy medium solution. While console manufacturers could still produce hardware, the base components & OS would be identical, making all games regardless of publisher playable on every gane console on the market. You could still have exclusive features, UI, peripherals & controllers, but all games would be playable on every console, no matter if it's made by Sony, MicroSoft, Nintendo, Samsung, Toshiba, JVC, Hitachi, TCL or Vizio. Think of future gaming consoles as Smartphones or TV's. They still compete, but they all allow you to run aps, watch movies, take pictures, browse the internet & make phone calls.

will say the same thing i said in other posts about that "one console" comment. i do not care for shawn layden. he's former head of PlayStation but still shils for them. during the ABK acquisition hearings he did an interview and said "consolidation in the gaming industry is bad". which is a laugh in and of itself because he works as a 'consultant" for Tencent. but he didn't say "one console" he said "one console technology" which doesn't necessarily mean only one console and nothing else. just that all consoles should be at the same standard (even though we know he most likely had PlayStation in mind when he said it).

the idea of a "single" go to gaming device would cause to much of a monoply. we need diversity to keep the compition to push for best price/game/experience one can offer and many of us would shell out for a gaming consol for as i said before... they won't slow down as much. less chance for viruses and bugs... the less hassle compared to what may need to be done on a PC

The issue isn’t multiplayer. It’s the lack of effort put into those games. Due to time being such a limited resource, I usually only play in the evenings with friends. I have a massive back log of single player games I’ll never play.

They are so gearing up for 2026. Look at their show and the 4 games they got going without showing all the Xbox ads on them. Everything is so going to crank out and be awesome come 2026.

I think we have enough single-player games. I think we just need CO-OP games and good ones. I don't care about these co-op games where you have to team up to do things like A way out. The only one of those I liked was Army Of Two. I just want a single-player experience with co-op elements just shared with a friend in the same world, like how they have done with Borderlands, Halo, Gears Of War, and Ghost Recon Wild Lands. I miss just playing games in CO-OP. Fallout 76 was only good to me because of the custom world. I hated the online, and people would always be like, " Why do you play in the custom world? You know you can't bring that back to Online, right?" That's the thing, idgaf. I don't like the online anyway. So why would I play it. All those CoOp games are now getting really old and I'm finding I don't have much to play anymore with just friends.

Need to chill on multiplayer games? Most everything is single player lol. We need more co-op games. Single player is good for some games, but most just make you feel alone and like you're in a ghost town/world.
