I just realized that my graphs show a degradation of Dawid's videos overtime. I only have three data points, but the last two videos were 15 and then 12 minutes long and this one is only just over 10 minutes long. We've lost 33% of Dawid's videos (or maybe a better way to look at is there used to be 50% more). I'm going to start using a stopwatch to ensure the timer is accurately reflecting how long the videos are (length is all that matters in life of course), and I'll continue to track this. The Ads on Microsoft sites are not well vetted and can be quite creepy. Many if not most of the ads are generated by cookies and then are customized to your searches. For example I was looking at expensive blenders on Amazon in Chrome, only to find the exact same blenders on Edge in one of the Microsoft news sites. And some of the ads are for downright scams such as desktop coolers that are supposed to air condition a whole room. I shudder everytime I use Windows 11 just to check the weather. Now Microsoft, could you have a pay to not see ads service such as on RU-vid or on Amazon Prime? Then my trust in a certain operating system outside of Apple and Linux might be restored.

I've been using edge since it came out and never seen this screen. First thing I do is make google my home page and when I open a new tab, I turn all of that off. Disable everything, you don't need it.

The worst thing about all of those stupid ads is that there's always links to news articles going "Beloved star passes away at *whatever age*" and it's always someone I've NEVER heard of because they were in like... a bit part in one movie thirty years ago and that was it. Or the "McDonald's brings back fan favorite sandwich" and it's something they've either never had before or that nobody gives a shit about. We want snack wraps back. That's it. When you report those ads as scams, nothing happens. Same with FB. FB, Microsoft, et al don't care what malware they push as long as the company's check clears.

For a while Microsoft Edge was kind of good. Right between fixing the problems and introducing the adpocalypse. For a short fleeting while.

6:28 Dawid it's like warning you when you open the task manager it will be on 100% then it'll decrease, so it's basically saying there's a malware consuming the pc performance when you're not looking and will stop that as soon as you open the task manager

Some serious advice is that "sleep mode" can do some weird things sometimes, so if your system seems funky, reboot it. I generally don't use it anymore since my 7 year old windows install just doesn't like it 50% of the time. It's like "I'm awake now, so you wanted to play Minecraft at half speed right? Even though your framerate is still in the 200s." I really need to stop being lazy and migrate over to the new install. 🤣

The thing about ACTUALLY turning off your windows 10/11 system (or just hit reboot) every now and then actually have a very good point: Most modern windows PCs come with fast boot(officially called fast startup) enabled by default, it gives you really fast boot time, but also modify the default "shutdown" behavior from completely shut down the entire windows OS, to save everything into a "snapshot" and hibernate, the next time you "boot" the PC it restore your previous session from that snapshot. And here's the problem: the OS never actually shuts down (excluding when windows update reboots it), and whatever happened is saved into the "snapshot", including every issue and error that had happened or is happening, because no program is actually getting terminated (unless it either crashes or you manually killed it) and eventually things just gets out of hand and you have a broken OS. However, by actually shutting down the OS with "hold shift while click 'power off'" or simply hit "restart", it forces every program to stop, and terminates any non-responding program, actually saving everything to file instead of snapshot, shuts off the whole windows OS, and then start everything from scratch (i.e. read from files instead of using snapshot) the next time you boot up the PC, and this is why you hear people says "reboot solve most problems".

If you are using Windows you data is already being taken, By Microsoft.

I have monitoring software (CrystalDiskInfo for drives, iCue for PSU logging, don't need CPU logging). Do I check the logs? No. I have alarms set.
