Great video! You got most of it spot on. You can actually climb out and do a max performance takeoff in the R22. Even with 2 on board and half fuel. Your map limit depending on temp will determine if you can takeoff to clear obstacles. For autos, entry speed should be 75-80 knots and try to maintain that to the flare. It does seem to retain altitude in the auto a little better than the real thing. I found myself floating long, so I adjusted my entry target. The governor is still MSFS limited. In the real thing you can leave it on, and it doesn’t operate below 90%.
Nice video! Been flying this myself from release and it really is a bit of a treat (as i fly VR and all my other Cowansim helis are grounded following the updates due to fps loss). Joshua did tell me this would run well, and it does! Love the flight model, no heli pilot but it feels right from it's spec, and you can touch it down so smoothly once you get a practice landings or 2 in. Wasn't sure what to expect from the startup and clutch etc, but he's done a great job given the limitations in the sim right now, and it seems pretty on point. I'd suspect the splitting of the needles may be a bit bugged, again with the sim limitations, but we'll see if that gets any improvement in oncoming updates, along with the autorotations. Keep up the great work, you're filling a void of decent helicopter reviews right now!
Bring on the Huey, it’s iconic, a legend, and a reminder of what was and should never have been. I’m an AF vet I want it, please before I fade away🪖🇺🇸😀👍🙏🏼
I bought the hype 145 ages ago, but not flown for a while. and with MSFS 2024 coming out soon if I bought this R22, will it work in the new version? I want to start off simple again as I forgot how to fly the 145. :(
