This is truly the future and I can't wait I hope it's not too expensive What am I saying it's Microsoft they say what they are gonna do to your pocket in their name micro you got no money soft your pockets won't be after you buy this awesome thing but seriously it looks awesome
You do realize that HoloLens will not be as smooth as that, or as HD as that, and you probably wont see it for under £1000 in about a decade. I think it is a great concept though and is definitely possible, and I can't wait until it gets perfected in a few years from now.
The price point, probably more than $1,000. I would imagine at least $5,000 for quite a while as it will replace TV, computers, etc. But no, it does look like that. Like MYTHICALTWINKIE said, they demoed it live and allowed everyone to go in and play with it in a lab. It all looks just like that.
DonutShop Jack hey dave! can you go in this wall? I MEAN can you go get some wood from that tree that is not a wall......its ok just jump in i think that is the bed.......
Well it is true, they did a live demo with actual volunteers and it's as real as it can get, and also it looks exactly like how you see it in this video.
ZzLee2kaii10zZ proof? Your saw it yourself? You actually witnessed with your own eyes this worked. Sure they weren't actors and using very good special effects. This can't be that accurate. If it is then what is wromg with oculus. They are having tons of trouble. Half the shit they showed is complete bollocks. Not all of it. I think the TV and Skype thing could work. But Eye Tracking and Head Tracking is still inaccurate even today. This won't be like they show here. Not as smooth and perfect. This is star trek
albozru1e The Walkman that produces better sound than pretty much any phone, most home stereo systems that released before 2013 and a great many PCs? That one? Also SmartAR a Sony Innovation came out about 2 years ago... It works with many devices and will likely include HMD Systems (if it doesn't already).
Unlike Kinect, however, people have tried this, and love it. Yeah sure, it still has bugs and is still in prototype, but the people who have tried it have had their minds blown.
***** It's because most xbox-owners did not have a choice due to it coming bundled with the XB1 at launch or because they were gullible enough to buy one based upon the ads which if we can be honest for a second; were rather misleading in terms of actual performance. The amount of people possessing something is not an argument when it comes down to being good or not. 91% of sub-Saharan African children have HIV, I guess having HIV is even better than having a kinect by your logic.
The thing about Microsoft is that they know they need to move to future and are prepared to throw shit at the wall until they perfect it, look how much kinect 2 improve over the original, and all the features they wanted for the xbone were bound to happen eventually consoles are going through what PC gaming did in the early 00's and I think that it might not work off the bat but Microsoft will perfect it
For everyone saying that this won't work as shown. Go watch the live demo from Windows 10 Live Briefing Earlier. It works as shown and is super simple! Please don't speak without knowledge.
Rhas 'Churol I'm really busy at the moment so I can't look up these things. Do you think you could send me a link to a live demo or something? If it's true it'll be the most expensive meal of my life!
If no one is going to make a "Pokemon: Hololens Edition" then we're all wasting our time. Imagine if you will: -GPS tracking were the further you travel, the rarer the Pokemon. -Real life map transfer system. If you are at a beach and linked (somehow), you find water/sand Pokemon. -Peer to Peer trading becomes more immersive. Voice chat, real one on one communication. -Your local game shop/store can be a small in game shop, kinda like the Poke'Mart :) -Having a PVP mode option on/off switch. If you walk past someone, like a random NPC encounter, you have to battle and you get a little '!' in your HUD >_< -Your badges are on display whenever someone scans you. Street cred you. -Holographic Poke'balls always on your belt so others can see how many Pokemon you're carrying in a party -Possibly a one-of-a-kind starter/selection of a view pokemon to be constantly travelling with you holographically, so others can see/battle/admire/OMG! Please tell me i'm not alone. PLEASE LIKE and Comment and whatever to get this spread. FEEL FREE TO ADD ANY IDEAS!!
•throws money at screen• You know i feel like virtual reality could make us even more unsocial but with your idea it'd be the opposite. It would encourage us to go outside etc. Imagine having a virtual pokemon battle with someone on the street.
you could also train your pokes like training other then battles like that kid with the sandshrew that beat ash in season one or somethign that trained him with a whip and he could swim in water. anyways you could like train your lil holo pokes like a pet you know . just i think kids would die by accident ( omg look theres a mewtwo i have to go catch it - mack truck hits little timmy by mistake as he attempts to catch his mewtwo in the street-
Or partners with Microsoft and makes a crap tonne of epic Nintendo games for the HoloLens. Why can't we all just work together in one place? We ARE all on one planet and we have the ability to do SO MANY things if we just will ourselves to do them. Guys, let's all petition on Change.org to get Sony and Microsoft to partner up together and make the all-around greatest gaming console EVER and have the ability to freely play on it from ANYWHERE using our HoloLens! By the way, I'm so buying the HoloLens FIRST CHANCE I GET! I LOVE the idea and I think it will benefit our civilization greatly! Add me on Xbox LIVE / Steam / Origin / PlayStation Network: Lightning4412
This is like self driving cars. People think “Wow! This will change the world! I can’t wait for this to be everywhere! Other companies will do things like this!” Four years later, everyone forgot about this. Self-driving cars should be on the road right now, but have you ever seen one on the highway? We haven’t been able to focus on progression because of the issues that we’re still facing with what we already have. Imagine if technology like this was the norm. The everyday experience. In 2015, you’d think that we’d be there by now, or at least we’d remember it. That hasn’t happened.
I like how Microsoft comes out of no where and already has the best marketing in comparison to their competitors lol. They just do it so much better lmfao.
I take this with a HUGE grain of salt. Remember how amazing kinect looked when it was first announced as project natal? Still, it's a cool concept video.
true but this is different motion controls need a lot of perfecting and isn't really meant for hardcore gaming however AR and VR is the future of gaming and the world as a whole
Oculus says: Look at us we're making the Best VR thingie ever on the planet and we won't be done till.... we're done Google says: We just made that best VR thingie with cardboard and it costs only 10 bucks Sony says: We made one too, works already with our PS4 that gamers already love. Sorry can't use it anywhere else. Magic Leap Says: We have one, It's not VR it's Augmented Reality. We just won't show you yet. Microsoft Says: We're pretty much done with it and it's VR & AR and everything else you want it to be. Coming to win 10 soon You choose
Why do people not realize, Oculus Rift, and Hololens, are completely different. One (Oculus) is VR, (Virtual Reality) and the other (Hololens) is AR, (Augmented Reality) One interacts with reality, one doesn't.
Sniff, sniff, hmmmm....I smell a bait and switch. Reminds of demos in E3, they show you this awesome gameplay with beautiful graphics and then you get your hands on the game and notice how shitty the game is compared to the gameplay that they showcased. Basically, don't get your hopes up. Remember who it was that developed Kinect...
Watch dogs was demoed too, so was Destiny, ac unity, driveclub and other disappointments, just because it was demoed doesn't mean the final product will be like that, just like the other guy said, "remember who made the kinect?" And were is kinect now? I know this is not a game but plenty of things like this get showcased all the time and look exciting but they just turn out to be gimmicks and fail. I hope this doesn't fail cause it looks cool and all but the other guy is right, don't get your hopes up.
It already is this good.... all of the things in this video were demoed by the bloggers and jounalists.... lol they all said the same thing "believe the hype"
This literally brought a tear to my eye. The world is more amazing than I think I have ever realized. This is the future we have all dreamed of, and finally it's here.
My sister in law is the head manager of this new Holo lens at microsoft in Seattle. She said this thing while in 7se in exactly like its shown here. She walked on mars in a 3d environment and was in awe at the graphics alone. I cant wait for her to bring one to my place for me to try
I'm not even thinking about all the entertainment features, think how awesome it would be to see your design briefs in 3D. And instructing people how to fix machines from a distance...interactively?! Thats crazy useful.
This is why I want to stop getting older at about 20, I'd not get old and be able to see all these great concepts, because let's be honest, it will be about 15-20 years untill it will be this good and available the the public - at an enormous price still
Oh my gosh... Our teacher showed us this vid and then told us we were getting it as soon as it comes out because we are developing software for it!! Is probably a while of but I'm still sooooo excited. 50 INCH TV ON THE WALL!!!
Imagine seeing a person siting in a sofa in an open lobby (or whatever big hall with sofas), with this and watching hockey, american football, soccer or any other sport. Now imagine his/hers favorite team plays in the finals and they score. How weird would it be to see someone, "looking at a flat wall" and screaming out of joy...
People seems to be forgeting this is NOT a gaming device exactly... it wasn't advertised as an Xbox One product... it was advertised as a Windows 10 complement. So it's on the professional area I'm gessing for designers, engineers, architects, artists, scientists, etc... the gaming part would be an add-on
Wow, this ad is so full of bullshit, its unbelievable. I love how, at 0:23, 0:32, 0:35, 0:36, 0:45, 0:47, 0:52, 0:57 (8 times in just in the first minute) the entire world is transformed even though the camera is in the 3rd person perspective, not first person perspective. Yeah right, if i watch someone wearing these glasses, the whole world around them will have cgi graphics even though I am not wearing the glasses myself. Also, way to copy Google glass Microsoft.
have you even seen the live Demo? It's also just showing what the people would be seeing, you would just be left in the dark seeing nothing but them moving around.
Ahem. The video I clicked on said something about a demonstration. This isn't a pre-roll, so how did I end up watching a commercial and no demonstration?
Dude, why don't these videos have like 10 Million views already? This is the next step in advancement of society and it's like me and 700,000 others are the only ones who care so far 😛
the great thing about hololens is that it takes a different direction from oculus rift, which is clearly aiming for VR, and instead pursues AR, which, in the short term, is much more viable
This indeed looks really cool but remember when Microsoft first showed off the kinect and had project Milo? What they showed was you being able to scan stuff into a virtual world and full 1 to 1 recognition of your movements but as we know that was not the kinect that was released to the public. What i'm saying is this will work like advertised eventually but not day 1.......... or year 1, or even the next 5 years. Its going to need time to improve and evolve.
What they didn't show in the video was how he had to spend a half hour downloading the latest updates and installing them before he could use the headset. That's Microsoft technology for you.
I think this would eventually catch on, but at first people would be staring at you and think your crazy because your basically waving your hand in the eye or staring into space
I don't know why people are always wanting to get Apple products instead of Microsoft products. Microsoft products generally last longer and are of much better quality and cheaper. This Hololens looks awesome and i cant wait for it to come out :)
It's getting in proximity with that CMR (cellular memory review) device from the "Continuum" tv series... I am not sure if I should be excited or worried... Perhaps a little bit of both. :-)
