Except it’s not a thing that can happen, Microsoft only removed the towers from the game quickly before the release of FS2002 which is the only time this was an issue
If you actually pay enough attention, you can notice that at the end, it said that there was an error, and that was it. Not a ban or anything. But the thought of it is kinda funny ngl.
Honestly I found out about Gintani years ago through DDE. It's amazing to see your relationship through the years. Your story is amazing Alex and I'm proud to be a supporter! Congratulations on the success and the new shop! I loved watching this series and it only made me love Gintani and Alex even more ❤
Well if I recall correctly he did say that they removed it, I think..... But if he spreading false info/unsure/unapproved info then that gonna need to stop
The bans were happening around the event when it was more sensitive and in the 2002 flight simulator. Many comments in the original video mention this. Please do research before criticising other peoples video.
Even if It was a thing to ban people that would go back to that time just to recreate 9/11, It wouldve meant the DEVs had to keep recreating 9/11 in order to make sure some sort of auto ban would trigger.
Yeah when the game was being developed the developers had no intentions of making a feature that allows you to change the time and they only focused on making the future not the past
I was flying around nyc and did a low pass over the 1 World Trade Center and circled around it then pulled a little to far back stalled ai pilot took over and almost flew me right into the tower
This is not a lie. So this only happened in the 2002 version of MSFS when the debris was getting cleaned up still. But if you do it in a present version of MSFS, nothing will happen.
The thing is, setting it to that date shouldn’t ban you, but flying your plane into the towers should. I feel like the devs should put in the twin towers in their respective dates but having an invisible wall around them
So what you're referring to is true- every subsequent edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator (Beginning with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002, released October 2001) after 9/11 did have the World Trade Center removed out of respect for the victims of the attacks and for accuracy. The claim that players are being banned for setting their dates to 9/11/2001 in the simulator is false.
I really need to make a video or something explaining this but long story short 9/11 happened in September, the game was released in October of that year, the towers got removed before anyone could even play it
this video is really quite pointless. a game using world data from 2022 is not going to have buildings that didn't exist when the scan was done. It takes about 3 seconds to think this.
@@Husheythey removed the twin towers in the 2002 version. The entire year before September 11, the WTC complex was still there. They removed it because idk why
there is no crash damage in the game. you just bounce off of it. i did this for educational purposes to test the burning of jet fuel on steel beams ofc
Simulating 9/11 is like the quintessential flight simulation. It's historical, can be easily replicated down to the atoms in the air that day, and it's low key a nice flight path following the hudson into manhattan :P
