It's really because alot of folks buy consoles for their exclusive games. That being said games like Halo, Gears, Forza, Flight simulator are HUGE draws for people.

Xbox lied to their customers when it comes to ABK. Their primarily focused on CoD and a few others from that catalog. Speak to me when Xbox actually utilizes their acquisitions.

Also, what I'm talking about is being able to play online shouldn't not be behind an artificial pay wall. Pay to have access and use the internet, that's fine. It's a product. Paying for the game it's self is fine. It's a product. Paying for the console is fine. It's a product. What's not fine is to have to pay after all of that we already pay just to have the ability to play the game we bought on the console we bought with the internet we bought already. Paying to play online is paying for internet access twice. Mind you, we used to have what I'm talking about. You had internet, then you can play your game online without another fee.

When you order from door dash or another service similar, you'll see what they call a "convenience fee." That fee is there to pinch just a little bit more from your wallet and is only accepted because we allow it. This is the same issue.

XBox Core = XBox Live now.

It's not just about call of duty. The cost of development has increased quite a bit also. They haven't raised the cost in a while. You are getting day and date releases. If you play 4+ games from that list per year. It is worth it compared to buy them on release. Now granted if it goes up more than 20 a month and the day on releases lowers below 4 a year, then it would not be as worth it.

I had a Xbox Series S and Gamepass unless you like Indies and old games it might not be for you. Not saying I don't like Indies but I'm not heavily into Indy games either. Xbox needs to go even further and utilize their acquisitions. Put the ABK catalog on Gamepass.

He did say the price increase was for new customers the price for existing costumers will happen later on this year.

@@DrSchmerz You can still download and play all of your purchased games without game pass. You have never needed game pass just to play your own games.

That makes sense. You will be able to keep the games and you can buy Xbox live gold online keys for cheaper than retail so you'd just he saving money in the longrun depending on what games you play. But if you play like the whole library of gamepass games it might not.

@@robgable2426 I think they're still going to have Gamepass Core for $9.99/month or $60 if buying 1-year subscription. It will allow "premium" online play for non-ftp games. Ftp games will still be playable online without Gamepass (or at least I hope so lol). Destiny, Fortnite, SMITE, etc multiplayer can currently be played for free 😄

You can still buy only gold..... gamepass gives you a whole list of games that's essentially the difference it's like 10 bucks for gold yall fr ignorant as fuk

It's not just for playing online. There's xbox live gold too. This is for extra perks and really it's worth it. You get all EA games, Activision just got added as a Microsoft studio so all future call of duties will be on gamepass, forza, halo, SEA of thieves, far cry. Most of my games are from gamepass.

Can somebody quickly explain how this is possible? Ive been playing on game pass since 2020 and have only earned like 12k points....

In general, consoles are sold at a loss. MS make no money from console sales, they lose money.

@@ricardojaye305 then why keep spending money making them? With game hubs and now fire stick which is not expensive. They have no reason to create a more powerful console than series x. But there's another one in development right now.

@@matthewthomas9800 Because the money they initially lose they eventually make back through game sales and subscriptions etc. And then it becomes very profitable for them. They know there are still a fair few million people who still prefer to game on consoles, so another console is in the works. But they are gradually going to move away from home consoles.....just going to take time.

Steam is great, bought shadow of the erdtree for 18.99 and I don't need to pay 18.99 monthly to play online, you get that privilege for free on pc, once you make the switch it's hard to go back
