Microsoft Rewards Xbox Console App Shutting Down 

UPDATE 3/21/24: The Microsoft team has informed me that there will be a "new version of streaks" that will be added to the Rewards hub on Monday, March 25th. I think someone was listening to us yesterday! I will most likely post an update next week if/when that new opportunity appears. 😊🏅

The worst part about the app was waiting 10 or more seconds for the app to open. Especially when you're clicking on all the 5 point cards.

My problem with this is we are losing more and more ways to earn points while there is little to nothing replacing some of those features. It would be better if they added ways to earn at least half of those points we lose out on from the programs being removed.

Hopefully they add the 500 point weekly console bonus for everyone. With that it you earn an extra 2000 every month.

I hope they have events where you earn a point for every gamerscore you earn again.

Well at least my wife will be happy that I don't need to take the Xbox on vacation so I can maintain my 165 week streak

Feels like they are just going to make it harder to earn points while increasing costs of rewards...$100 Gift card was 91K points now its 95K....slowly will probably creep up over time little by little...😑🤦🏽‍♂️

I know it's not the end, but i still wish you luck for the future. It is pretty sad all this seems to finally be ending. Or at least all the points have been slowing down significantly every couple of months. Thank you for the breakdown and perks of the new system though! 🧡

The value of your points has shot way up in Canada. Previously, $25 CAD in the Xbox store cost 23,900 points. Now it's 17,815!! That's massive!!

I don’t care about it going as long as u can earn more points in app or some web thing they shouldnt lower the amount of points to get in one day that would be sad

I kinda seen this coming when they gave us less rewards in the app. To be honest, I'm glad they are communicating to us. That being said, I wonder if we will be getting more reward opportunities for the hub moving on and if they will compensate us for the lost available points for the year. Over 17,000 is a lot of points to be lost a year. Keep up the good work on your videos and let us know if they come out with more information.

I get my 160 week streak in just in time. The points have been messing us around for a while now. Hopefully this new hub will give us the same amount of points each month. I'm kinda gutted, but kinda excited to see what this brings and how it evolves. Thanks for the heads up CP!

I couldn't use the app since the beginning of March anyway..... I had a strange ''update your location'' bug that prevented me from opening it. So I'm glad they get rid of it but I'm sorry for those that still could use it.

It's funny but my Xbox's hard drive died a couple days ago and I was debating getting another or switching to PC. That decision just got easier. Also looks like my 255 week Xbox app streak was doomed to end one way or another.

Thank you for making these videos every week. They’ve been a massive help churning out achievements and free points. I love telling people about getting game pass for free. It takes a bit of time each day to maximise your points with Xbox, pc and searching/quizzes etc but it’s been fun. I’ll carry on doing it as long as the programme is still alive. Honestly the app itself had a ton of problems. So I'm hoping this new hub will be better.

Love your videos! Just kinda sad about we get no recognition about being loyal members. I'm on my 325-week streak and kinda sad that just will vanish. The points were the plus of course but I like going for the streak. 325 weeks is a long time to be dedicated to anything. I just hope point limits never happen. Love your content!

I’m on 203 weeks too

Hopefully they move some of the other ways to earn points such as the featured games to the hub as that is a habdfull more points being lost too. I think they need to remember that one of the ways we find games that we end up playing is through the challenges. There have been a number of games i would never have picked up without those.

None of those “Pros” affect me as a veteran rewards hunter.

The announcements and extra points to earn will probably be added as cards in the Rewards section where it currently says Set Goal here and Explore the Rewards catalogue. Maybe they will introduce to equal out the points with further offers. At one stage of my continual feedback with Support, they did say that they were making changes to the Rewards system soon in 2024 but will be offering near the same if not more ways of earning more points. So that would be good if that is honored.

I was worried they were shutting it down completely just of the title. How you have 500,000 points is beyond me lol. I only have 4,700

I lost my 292 week streak on the app around 5 months ago, all cause the app would not calculate days correctly. It sucked, and yet, it was a blessing. Finally moved on from trying to keep it going

I signed up for Microsoft rewards but the new rewards hub doesn't show up on my xbox. Could it be a region issue or what?

Has anyone redeemed since this new section became active? I always went through the app, today marks the first day that I had to add a phone number, went through that whole process, received/entered the security code, got the "You're all good" notification and didn't receive anything else, my game pass still says it expires in a couple weeks and I have nothing new in my order history. Exactly what I was worried about with this new section.

Imagine you need to be a ultimate game pass member now everyday to earn points that’s what their doing it was first 50 points earn an achievement then they removed to ultimate game pass then changed it to 5 but now losing weekly quest 100 points every weak then get 2,500 their removing that

Hopefully the new app will be better optimized. My Series X loads a save on Balders Gate faster than the rewards app loads.

Another Con on the closing of the app you missed is it was the only way for gold members now core members could get points on console. So they will no longer be able to get any points on console. As to earn the points they push to it says you need xbox game pass ultimate or console.

Whenever i enter the rewards hub it says “ try again later we can’t check for quests right now” even tho my location and language region is in a supported country, what do i do?

I'm on 582 week streak they've been eroding away the chance to earn for weeks. I'm able to max most points on my phone but just don't have time to do the achievements daily to get the monthly 1000. Thanks for all your help over the last few years👍

over the last year or so they have been removing or lowering the points that can be earned, and the way of earning points within the new hub are just low earners and boring and also because the monthly 500 point now has you having to do 45 daily's, I now only play a game pass game until I earn an achievement, then I'll possibly wait for the next day to try to play some more for another achievement, so I only play just enough to get one achievement per day, just so I can keep earning the daily's. I'm not playing game pass games for long periods.

It's such a bummer that the streak doesn't carryover. I think we all knew they're gonna eventually kill the app but I really thought they'd at least carry the streak over. 203 week streak is super impressive 😮

I’ m not sure what Microsoft is trying to accomplish with all the changes to Rewards but I find myself playing Xbox games less because of it. I used to try the games that were in the weekly challenges and found I liked many of them and continued to play them. Those challenges are gone. If I get an achievement in a game, I stop playing for the day. Why waste another achievement if it won’t count towards the monthly goal? Now with the streaks gone I will play even less since there is no reason to login daily.

I swear I'm getting less points every day. It won't let me go past 15 search points...

Luckily I just reach the 2500 bonus last week, but yes those weekly bonus will be missed 😢

I have the utmost faith in human nature and the good folks at Microsoft, and I have no doubt that they will be busy right now coming up with even more fun and innovative ways for we most loyal customers to earn even more reward points.

Have not been in the rewards in a while. Are the searches slower now use to take me 5 minutes to search for just 50 points or more. It takes forever now did something change? A cooldown or something it’s much harder now .

So much for spending it on dominos like I used to. Don’t see the option anymore

even tho we are losing points, im kinda glad its changing. the rewards app has been super buggy lately. now i wish they would combine the game pass/xbox mobile app. i hate having to get on the game pass app to play a game, then switch over to the xbox app just to claim it

End of an era

I've been going through all the rewards this way already, I wasn't using the rewards apps itself. I hadn't even though of using the app until now mentioned.

I stopped doing rewards for a while now especially when the monthly completionist quest got so unrealistic. Also the game quests got cut out. 🎉

If downloading an app one time is a negative, how going to a submenu every time a positive? It's more a negative since we lose easy acces to the app now for everyone. Also, since it will be the same as PC and mobile now, what incentive do we have to use it on console over PC and mobile? Are the +5 points cards gone too?

500k rewards points saved up??? Is CP planning to buy a house w rewards points? But seriously for my rewards, I redeem them on $5 and $10 GCs. The points needed to redeem has gone down for me. Anybody else? Is this compensating for fewer point opportunities?

From the update of the app they removed the feeatures. my streak and others are gone. I had one for couple years. Then a glitch happen and ms agent refuse to fix it.

I have a question about the 'final offer' thats on the app tha mentions about getting one point for every dollar spent but it also attaches a huge amount of points on the top right, will it give me the 20,000 points for spending a dollar?🤔

So now that the Ms Rewards App has shut down will there be a way to auto-redeem your set goal? I used to have the monthly Game Pass Ultimate set to auto renew every month at a reduced point price (10500 points) but now I can't see how to do it without this app. 😢 It'll cost more now to redeem the same thing. (12000 points) 😭
