This joystick is for sale at my E-bay store www.ebay.com/usr/thewonderyearstoys Tested good with no issues, automatically set up drivers and began playing game within a couple of minutes.
Mine worked for 20 years. I had to replace it in 2018. The trigger was the only thing that broke. I couldn't figure out what was wrong to resolder so I got a new one off eBay. I also recently picked up a Force Feedback version too just for fun.
Maybe also check the USB cable. I had 2 joysticks and one of them had a nearly broken cable in the Joystick itself. It helped, moving the cable 90degrees away from the housing. Just Plug it in the Computer and move it around until you hear the "device connected" sound
I picked up this used Sidewinder Joystick for $10 in Tokyo on 12/27/2021 online at a community page / bulletin board to buy used stuff. It was working within 5 minutes of experimenting with several USB ports. I bought it to play Dragon's Lair, which is a game from 1983, if you can believe that. I'm using it now and it works fine. Only 1 out of 6 ports works. It's a Windows 10 box. Good luck with fixing your joystick. My experience is that it's totally plug and play, or PnP. No drivers to speak of. Good luck.
I have the Sidewinder 1.0 model from '98, any advice on how to make that work? I have a driver disc/game combo, but only the game actually functions...
Hello, I got one joystick exactly as yours and I'm doing the conversion to usb with a commercial connector. Unfortunately I connect the joystick to the PC (using Windows10) and does not even recognize that anything is connected. How did you make it? Thank you in advance.
Not sure with that game, sometimes it works with one game and not another. Hard to figure out why with these computers and the software involved. I have been lucky so far with only some of my old games/sims.
I had the model without forceback and it was great, I got to play the rogue squad star wars, and another game which the mechwarrior 3 loved was a joy, using the keyboard and joystick combination, all the products that Microsoft released in those times were very good, I am currently behind a swfb2, to play elite dangerous, this last one I played with a hotas but they stole it from me
i have that one, however if i try to use it to play microsoft flight simulator it doesnt work. it only shows the name on the game but no buttons or anything. Do you know what is up with it. i havent installed anything
@@thewonderyearstoys1047 Hello, I thank you very much for the information,I wish you the best for your channel and to that of course, greetings from Colombia
My Windows 10 system detected the drivers automatically but I am sure a Google search can find the drivers if your system does not detect them automatically.
I have the physical CD for this sim and just showed a clip for the purpose of selling the joystick on my online sales booth for toys/collectibles. I have a few older Janes simulation games but my pc does not run those for some reason.
