So… I’m an IT professional. I have tried this too like you did. But I had a discussion with my collleagues about it and showed them what this looks like. My workplace has around 900 employees most of them working with finance payroll and such for customers. The it department is about 20 people. If WE can’t really see the use for this how is a middle aged payroll consultant be able to? 5 first minutes of teams meetings today is all about getting set up not being muted and so on. Just think of these same people walking around finding their place in this? Using the keyboard and mouse to navigate. And do virtual marshmallow grilling?!? Has Microsoft gone insane? I’m into tech. I work and live tech. And I’m mildly intrested. How do Microsoft see this take off? What do you think? What does your subscribers think? Is this going to be a mainstream way of having meetings or is it just a thing for nerds? Microsoft have made huge investment in this over more than 3 years already and it’s not even a finished product. Isn’t AR more useful with more applications than this? But they scrapped their AR headset and never really iterated on it. I don’t get it…
Hi there!! Great points, and I have had similar conversations with people I know. It does feel like it maybe a glimpse into the future doesn't it. In reality the vast majority of people in office environments aren't techy still. I suppose younger generations growing up with this tech may be more naturally inclined to use it. I think personally it could be used more for virtual experiences. So you could show up at a company immersive space. Whether you have a headset of not, move around different parts of the space for different discussions. I'm not sure.... But I think you're right, there isn't a big enough audience of people that will have a true purpose for this, that would provide enough value. But time will tell! Have you tried your headset with virtual monitors?
@@husondiy Hi! No I haven’t tried virtual monitors. From what I’ve heard they shouldn’t need the HDMI thingys you have in the other video but be virtual drivers. Before at least they weren’t available here in Europe where I live. Maybe they are now. Have to try and see. I see that the software for the Quest lineup has changed quite a bit and that the avatars now have legs 😂

Hi there. It certainly is! It is very impressive to be honest. Its not perfect clarity, but in the right lighting it's very very good. I find that if your concentrating on VR elements when in pass through you don't see the lack of detail and you become really immersed. I'm very impressed and its a huge leap from the Quest 2
I can’t see this taking off whilst it’s avatars but it’s a good step toward us having codec avatars and feeling like we are together in the room with real people
