I was not able to get audio to work so I showed the startup and shutdown sounds used at the end of the video by opening the virtual machine's virtual hard disk in 7-zip.
I did not do this in PCem because this build requires a processor that is at least 150 MHz. My computer is not powerful enough to emulate a PC with a processor that fast (emulating anything past 100 MHz requires a lot more power than you think. The max I am able to emulate is 90 MHz. The most I can emulate while I record with OBS is 75 MHz).

A bit old by now, but if anyone else sees this, one way you can get graphics & sound drivers to work on this build & the millennium builds before this one is to install them in microsoft virtual pc 2004 and/or 2007, and can use the VM files between those two, it's what i did with said builds on a few older machines of mine, though you'll have to add some things in the configuration file of the VM's to make sure the time does not sync with your PC & the time in the VM only goes forward when you are running the VM's, otherwise it will stay the same as whatever it was when you exit it, need to make those changes to the configuration files due to the timebomb on them all.

That's definitely a valid way to do it, however it may not work for the majority of people on Windows 10. Virtual PC 2007 stopped working for most after build 10000 in the insider preview of the technical preview back in 2015. When I tried to installing it before by using these methods to bypass Windows 10 from blocking you from installing it, I would get BSoD problems and I would have to use system restore. A way that works for me in many old builds is to use Sound Blaster 16 audio in PCem or Virtualbox.

There are two ways that I know of (at least) in which sound can be enabled in this build: 1. If you go to the .vmx file and add this line of sound.virtualDev = "sb16", you should get audio that way on many Windows 9x builds (by official Beta 2 of Windows Millennium the audio would be enabled by default) 2. You could also use the Windows 98 SE driver (Version 2.5 July 2001) and install it that way (assuming the CD-ROM of that build is inserted), however newer VMware versions might not have this be worked properly (you'd have to install VMware Tools and sync everything to false first and after drag it to the virtual machine).

Beta builds are always going to be less stable than RTM builds. There are many many bugs in beta builds that were not found because beta builds were focused on adding new features. Some beta builds of OSes will either not boot at all and files must be replaced with files of previous builds or the OS may crash just by opening a program. They start working towards perfection on RC builds. The RTM build is a million times more stable than the beta builds. I've never had the RTM build crash on me once or had it have issues with installation. Whether or not Me is unstable depends on how you use it and what software you are using.
