Within the last year, my state lifted restrictions on autos. And, it’s been a long time since I’ve bought a new knife… I’m gonna give the LUDT a hard look.

Got a guy i work with; we live in Arkansas and we traded knives for a day at work. I used his LUDT, he used my Anthem. I won’t lie; kinda want a LUDT after that. Kick the bucket!

I bought my first LUDT back in '97 and have always considered it the standard by which all other manufactured side-openers are measured.

I love my bright blue LUDT. To be honest it’s an odd knife in the world of today’s titanium frame locks but the thinness behind the edge, silky smooth action and bombproof quality is just outstanding. A real slicer in the polished blade version.

I have a red one with black blade and hardware. Partially serrated blade. Out of hundreds of knives, even customs, and some I’ve had professionally sharpened this knife is the sharpest of ALL. It will push cut paper with almost no pressure. I think the paper just cuts itself knowing this blade is coming. It’s alien! Highly recommended. All the other features are stellar too. But the blade....holy cow!!!

I for got about this knife until that last video you showed it in. I really like the aesthetics, from the blade shape to the handle. That purple is pretty nice to Brian. It really pops. Hell even my wife likes it lol. Thanks for the reminder.

The LUDT is a great knife. I can recommend the Microtech bits from Switchbladekits if you want to take it apart although I wish MT would just include them in the box.

Micro’s are all hand sharpened, me thinks, and they have great QC. That’s why they are all super sharp.

Got a new LUDT in the mail yesterday. It has terrible button stick when deploying. I’ve been firing it over and over trying and added a drop of pivot lube, still nothing improved it.

You can find the triwing bits to take it apart if you really wanted to. But I think Microtech is pretty strict on dissembly voiding the warranty, hell if you read the paperwork sharpening it yourself can void the warranty.

You're killing me Brian. I'm in a no carry auto state. Got a UTX85 just to experience it and use around the house. But I know if I got one of these guys I'd end up carrying it, and I don't need that risk. Microtech how about a thumbstud version?

Carry what you want if your for most part law abiding citizen a cop isn't gonna pull u over an say empty your pockets unless your doing stupid shit and ther are criminals with guns shooting at each other an innocent people so I believe wether the state says you can't have an auto knive is stupid but you can legally carry a firearm in the same state I believe if you do the right thing and your intentions are good im not saying to break the law but I think we should all be able to carry our favorite edc knives any way cheers bro

"L-Underwater Demolition Team".... Does that mean it is waterproof and perfect for the kitchen and underwater?

It fires underwater. However aluminum and the steels that come on this knife rust. If you want a chef knife in your pocket I recommend the spyderco sypdiechef it's made from titanium and lc200n as blade steel. Making it truly rust proof. Other than there's the salt series but generally I don't think anyone makes water proof just jokes.

@@michaelmeyer4845 They do make divers knives for scuba, but those are obviously too thick. Would be funny to see chefs in wet suits prepping food....or worse, me demolishing a chicken. I did suspect "L-Underwater Demolition Team" to simply branding.

how does the action compare to a protech? as far as autos go I always viewed microtech as the king of OTFs and protech the king of side openers.

I’ve carried a protech; and a guy at work has a LUDT. I’ll say they’re close to neck to neck. I felt bias to the Protech because it was mine but man that LUDT kicks. Hell even a BM Barrage can kick like a mule sometimes.

It does remind me of the Mordax in looks but in deployment they are far apart.
