Great video showing people how to "use their knife like a man" lol and how to fix it. My Socom is my favorite user. I popped the tip a while back and fixed it. It wasn't as large a chip as yours but chipped. Your fix and cleanup looks better than mine but I'm happy with it. I'm glad guys are promoting USING knives. Plenty of videos and pictures of collectors but more and more you guys are showing use and maintenance. Keep it up brother 👍
Josh Wallace Thanks bro. That’s awesome. I’d love to see urs too if you have Insta, shoot me some pics. Thanks for watching bro. Yea I’m definitely trying to promote guys using their blades and having some fun. Life is short. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great Job Bama! You really did a great job on that knife. You really didn’t use anything crazy or special to fix that knife.. that’s what makes it impressive... can’t wait to see the follow up video
Really nice job! I appreciate the shit out of guys like you that de-mystify sharpening. I’m learning freehand and can get a knife sharp, but the edge bevel looks kinda wonky. You brought out some good points and make it look easy. It’s not easy, it takes practice. Btw, I’m loving my Socom Elite auto. Man, it’s got a honker of a blade.
Nice job. Just think it would look a little better with a straight drop on the Tanto rather than the curve down to the tip. Looks pretty strong how has it held up?
Have had a Slysz Bowie for many years, used, not abused. But cannot center it anymore; blade is always biased to the show side. Have tried all the centering tricks and barely any improvement. Any ideas?
Thanks man. You can absolutely be good at it. I Royally SUCKED at it when I started several years ago. I literally went and bought a couple of $4 knives at Walmart and just practiced my angles. It looked like dog shit at first 😆😆 I just kept doing it and leaning in and looking closely at how my placement looked and it wasn’t long before I was putting freehand edges on $1,000 customs for guys. After a few times…muscle memory begins to take hold and you get consistent angles. Just like with anything else ….just takes a bit of practice. I only started freehand sharpening like 3 years ago. If you follow me on IG (Bamaknifeguy) shoot me a message and I can give you some easy tips that make it way easier. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
How are these people prying with a $300 knife. Get a leatherman. I keep a Ramon chaves CHUB for my blade abusing , leatherman to beat the hell out of, and a socom elite for slicing and piercing
Don’t buy in to the whole microtech socom hype rumors are the handles are advertised that they are 7075 aluminum but in the knife community the rumor is that the handles and springs are from China 🇨🇳 the handles are 6061 Chinese aluminum this is how microtech cuts corners. Not 100 percent American. Just saying...
