I have the exact same microwave with the exact same problem. Built up the bottom latch on the door with some tape. Works great now without tripping anything. May have to replace the tape at some point with something more substantial but it fixes the problem for now. Thanks for the help
I had the same problem and found the closed switch was to loose. So I crushed toothpicks pieces and inserted them in one side to tighten it in the socket. I did all three switches just to be safe. Now my frigidaire works fine when pushing start and opening the door while cooking.
Frigidaire sucks!!!! I have had the worst luck with dealing with those idiots. Our microwave kept going out they kept sending out repairmen they can't get the thing fixed . Finally my warranty was going to cover me a new microwave. But I was going to have to pay $130 to send my old one to them so they can buy it back plus taxes. I'm going to fix this piece of crap myself sell it to the next person that wants to deal with it and go buy me a Samsung . I will never ever buy another Frigidaire item ever again.
Yeah mine too, same exact behavior. We have an Insignia which has been discontinued (wonder why...), however it's basically a rebadged Frigidaire - same parts. Eventually this burnt out one of the thermal fuses. Figured this out too, it's the contact between the latch and the switch.
Mine blows the breaker during use. I'll check the door anyway and it doesn't happen every time. The door / switches seem like an easy fix. I'll try that.
After spending an hour or better running through the whole schematic, verifying all switches and overloads, and getting frustrated as all hell...I turned to RU-vid. Your vid saved me probably another hour of frustration. Thank you much for posting this!
Absolute genius. Thank u so much. I went even more ghetto than this, I decided to just hold the handle in and UP as it cooks so that it makes contact with that switch, then press stop before opening. You saved me a ton of time.
